This Year's Model Updates:

Mazda has strengthened the Millenia's body structure to improve torsional rigidity 30 percent. Combined with a new rear stabilizer bar and a larger front stabilizer bar, improved handling is the result. Visually, the car should be more appealing thanks to new front and rear styling. The interior has been updated significantly, as well. Hardware changes include larger disc brakes, a revised ABS system and standard side airbags for both models.

Pros:
  • Improved exterior styling and interior design, supercharged Millenia S engine, competitive price.
Cons:
  • Cramped interior, no navigation system available, aging platform.

have owned cadillacs, lincoln, bmw, acura and many others. leased this car for 3 yrs, was tired of high priced cars that did not live up to thier expectations. loved it so much i purchased it after lease. great price and lots of bang for your buck. Never been to the dealer, only oil changes and new tires, and brakes after 40k miles.

Ive owned the Mazda Millenia S, which I purchased from a dealer off lease return for several years now. Ive always thought that the car was underappreciated for its lovely styling. Okay, its not a head turner, but I think it is one of the more attractive cars out there. It is completely rock solid. Spartan compared to say Lexus, but has everything I need/want. Too bad they quit making this lovely car.

  • still love it after all of these years - 2001 Mazda Millenia

Bought it new in 01 and have about 105000 miles on it. I still love it! Its a sharp looking car and extremely comfortable, even for someone pretty large (62", 300) No major repairs, just fairly normal maintenance. The steering wheel that automatically raises when you take the key out and lowers to your pre-selected driving position when you put the key in is getting fussy in cold weather and stays in the up position, but Ive simply turned off the auto feature for the winter and will reset come springtime. Ill keep her until she falls apart around me.

Its a shame Mazda stopped building the Millenia. I bought mine used and have put nearly 130,000 miles on it. It has given me no problems at all other than a Check Engine light that seems to think theres a problem. The drive is very satisfying; think of the Millenia as a big Miata. The ride is smooth and quiet and it is generally a very comfortable car. The interior is classy and it comes without the gimmicks of high-end technology. Storage space is good with enough cup holders for everybody and a wide trunk. A folding rear seat would be nice. Mazda did not put enough effort into marketing the Millenia and giving it a competitive price tag. I think it would have been a very successful car.

  • The only car that Ill ever buy - 2001 Mazda Millenia

I brought this car home brand new from the dealership and fell in love with the car as soon as I saw it in the parking lot. The car looks great and people even mistake it for a Lexus or Infiniti. I paid $29,000 rather that the original price of $32,700. But I had the fuel tank door replaced under warranty because it opened when it wanted to and the Bose radio was replaced also under warranty because my CD got stuck and I could only use the radio. But other than that the car is a dream and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good looking car at a decent price.

  • A RARE CAR WORTHY OF MORE ATTENTION - 2001 Mazda Millenia

I purchased my 2001 Mazda Millenia in 2002 brand new as a left over. The dealership was discounting this car $10,000 off the sticker price of $35,000 (sticker included chrome wheels, 4 seasons package, heated seats, and bose in dash 5 cd system). This car has been an excellent value to me. I really enjoy and look forward to driving it

We have owned our Millenia S now for a year and it had been an awesome car! The looks turn heads everywhere we go and the quality could not be better. We paid approx. $8,000 less than a comparable Acura/Lexus and we are really glad that we did. ZOOM ZOOM!!

We bought this car a year ago used. Had previously owned a 626 and MPV and heard good things about this car and its value. One of the best cars weve owned! Fast, smooth, quiet and handles well, too. Nice leather seats and luxury features. Too bad its discontinued!

I think Mazda should really consider re-making the MMS! Ive ave. btwn 22 and 28mpg. Its grt on the highway and has plnty of pep when you need it. The leather dsnt get too warm when the sun beats on it all day. Recently had the opp to take a long ride w/ 4 adults and 1 child. We had plenty of room inside for of us. Lumbar sppt is a nice add on during long trips. I dont inticipate using the seat wrmers too much here in So. Cal. but the car is complete to say the least. Yes it would be nice to have a navigation system but for those on the go, Garmin 2620 is far better than factory installed ones Ive come accross and cost much less.

I love this car! I refused to be part of the Camry/Accord lemming stampede: Millenia provided me the perfect alternative/upgrade to them. You will not find a car that matches its fine- featured appointments, standard equipment, reputation for reliability, or performance at a better price. Check out Consumer Reports Used Car Buyer Guides and it is listed as a recommended buy. It just rocks!
