Overview & Reviews
Mazda has strengthened the Millenia's body structure to improve torsional rigidity 30 percent. Combined with a new rear stabilizer bar and a larger front stabilizer bar, improved handling is the result. Visually, the car should be more appealing thanks to new front and rear styling. The interior has been updated significantly, as well. Hardware changes include larger disc brakes, a revised ABS system and standard side airbags for both models.
- Improved exterior styling and interior design, supercharged Millenia S engine, competitive price.
- Cramped interior, no navigation system available, aging platform.

One Sweet Car! - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By rsmg - October 2 - 6:43 amQuite possibly the most enjoyable car, overall, I have driven in 30 years. For starters, my all-black car is beautiful, with sleek and subtle lines, perfect wheels and low, wide tires. Its quiet and happy on highways, handles great on curves. Interior is tasteful, functional, virtually flawless. Id like maybe a bit more lumbar support in adjustable drivers side. Enthusiasts might find the center hump interferes with spirited driving. My elbow hits it regularly. All-in-all, truly classic and classy. Wish theyd bring it back! My dad recently leased an 05 Mercedes E320 and is so overwhelmed with the superfluous technology that hed rather trade with me! Seriously!

Great Car - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By lilred100 - October 20 - 10:54 pmI bought this car used with 120k, drove 2 years and 20k miles before car was totaled by insurance company. Did well in the accident, no injuries despite drivers side impact. Fun to drive, sporty, sharp rims, great stereo. Minor, inexpensive repairs: thermostat, motor mounts and a fuse. A/C compressor was starting to go out. Visor mirror and one vent cover came unglued otherwise interior looked almost new. Took on lots of highway trips for work and did great at high speeds, comfortable on long drives. Adjustable seats and steering wheel give a good custom fit for the driver. My mechanic said it was a great car, I would buy another mazda in a heartbeat. Got about 18/24 mpg.

engine lights - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By ELAINE HARVILL-GREAT - December 24 - 4:56 pmi love my mazda except for all the engine lights coming on even though nothing is wrong with my car. It still cost alot every time I take it to the dealership. Like $1000.It only stays off a few months. Now both the engine light and the air bag light are both on. I have75000 miles on my car and this has happened about 10 times. I would NOT recommend it or buy another for this reason.

Fine Car - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By Bobbke - December 19 - 12:16 pmThe Millenia has been a fine car for me. It gets good gas mileage, about 28 on the road and 22 in town, and the 2.5 liter 170 horse engine has plenty of zip. I have not had one moments problem with it. I like the extra storage space in the doors with latchable covers on them. Comfort is great for long trips. Ive never had a car that was as comfortable. The leather seats are great.

Read this before you buy - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By NOMAZUT - January 12 - 5:56 amIf you are buying a new Millenia S for $32,905, spend an additional three to four thousand dollars and get an ACCURA or LUXES. I bought mine for $26,500 so it was a good value.

Great Value - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By go_buffs - November 23 - 2:00 amOverall, Ive been very pleased with my vehicle which I purchased with 17,500 miles and 1 year old. Ive had no significant problems with the car. If you are in the market for "near" luxury car for less than the Lexuss, Infinitys and Acuras, this car is a great choice.

Competent Cruiser - 2001 Mazda Millenia
By phild_mason - September 3 - 10:00 amI have had my Millenia for about 2 months and have put on about 3000 miles. The Millenia is a competent car that excels at little but also does not disappoint. I like the styling and the fact that it stands out among the Camrys and Accords of the world. The ride is smooth and quiet. Acceleration is adequate, but mileage could be better. I have gotten around 26 on the hwy.
