This Year's Model Updates:

Trim levels are shuffled and changed. The Sport becomes the entry-level model, while the other trims in the 2007 Mazda 6 family are revised, with the new Sport Value Edition, Touring and Grand Touring completing the lineup. Increasing the value proposition is the addition of more safety features across the line, with front side and side curtain airbags now standard on every 6.

Pros:
  • Fun to drive, slick-shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, attractive design inside and out, availability of hatchback and wagon body styles.
Cons:

  • Sweet SIX - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

I have had this car for just over a year. It is a great overall car. It is built very solid and looks great with the Black exterior and black interior. Performs pretty well for a 4 cylinder, especially at higher rpms. The gas mileage could be tad better. Averaging in 50/50 mixed driving around 24mpg. No mechanical issues with over 9k.

Bought this car new November 07. Love the way the car handles and rides. Have had no mechanical issues; just oil changes and tire rotations. These cars are very under rated and the Camry/Accord crowd will not consider this ride due to the perception that Toyota and Honda make a superior product. In my opinion that is their lost. This is not a car for people who want interior room. It is smaller than my sons 5 Altima; but I knew that when I made the purchase. I actually like this model more than the new 6. My gas mileage is around 30 in the summer and srops to about 27/28 when it gets cold and we get the winter gas formulation.

  • Almost Perfect - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

Ive had my Mazda 6i SVE about 15 months and I love it, mostly. Ive gotten as high as 31.25 mpg on the highway, 23 city. The car is not exceptionally quick but is roomy, comfortable, reliable, and handles phenomenally. Its quiet at freeway speed with good visibility and a lot of nice standard features like ABS, EBD, and traction control. Mines a redfire metallic and its an attractive car with the black interior. The only complaint I have at all with the car is the interior quality. The seats are nice and soft but the fabric roughs up and shows wear very quickly. Go for the touring model with the leather seats and door panels if you can. Doors sometimes dont shut well without a retry.

  • The i Sport Value Edition is Value - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

I was driving a 2002 Mazda Tribute and when gas prices shot up to $3 per gallon I decided to trade it in for something with better gas mileage. The Mazda 6 i Sport Value Edition is the perfect car for buyers who want 4-cylinder gas mileage but dont want to sacrifice good looks, performance and comfortability. I am averaging 25MPG on the highway after 4k miles, I usually speed in the left lane. This car is very comfortable to drive.

  • Wonderful Vehicle--Reliable & Fun - 2007 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

I bought my Mazda 6 in the Spring of 2007. It has been a wonderful auto; truly fun to drive while providing reliability and comfort. I have no complaints. The Japanese engineers thought it out carefully as to what a driver enjoys while building a solid all-around vehicle. The internal layout of the car is superb for its class!

  • Great value! - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

Just purchased the 2007 Mazda6i sports value edition. Love the look of the car inside and out. Great looking 17" wheels and love the feel behind the wheel. I purchased the Smokestone exterior color with black fabic interior. Love the way the dashboard lights up at night in red. Good gas mileage and I like the 2.3L 4cyl automatic. Good value for the money spent.

  • Fun To Drive - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

This car is a lot of fun to drive. Before making the purchase I did a lot of research and drove almost all of the comparable sedans. I compare the Mazda 6 to the VW Passat, and I really feel they are quite comparable in ride and handling. I just really feel for the money there is not a better deal out there. I have averaged 27 MPG in mixed driving situations, which is quite an improvement since I almost always am a Mopar/Chrysler/Dodge guy. I like the fact the car is assembled in the USA by UAW workers. That was really the tipping point in my decision to purchase this over a Mazda 3, or some other sedan.

  • Mazda Got It Right with the 6i - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

At 49 years old I have bought many cars in my life and have never felt compelled to write using descriptive words such as fantastic, fun to drive, love it, etc. Mazda definitely got it right with the Mazda 6i, in addition to giving the consumer a great value in comparing the 6i to a Camry or even a BMW 3 series, they have built what I would consider to be the perfect car for middle America. Having a family car that doesnt resemble a box is refreshing, the 6i is not only sporty in looks as it drives more like a sports car than family sedan.

  • Good Decision - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

I bought the Mazda6 almost two weeks ago after test driving the Fusion, G6, Mustang, and Mazda 3. For the money this was the best vehicle I drove. Everytime I test drove another car I would end up comparing it to this car. I was impressed with the smooth ride a surprising power from the 4cyl right of the bat. With all the standard features of this trim leve no other car could come close to matching the price. So far im very happy with this car. The first tank of gas got about 25 mpg, I expect it to get better once the engine is fully broken in.

  • Love this car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda6

I just love this car! I have had it for 2 weeks now and the interior layout is well done as is the exterior. It looks like a peppy midsize car and the performance backs it up. There is a larger turning radius but that was expected with the 17" wheels vs. the 14" on my last car. The traction control and ABS perform wonderfully and those commenting about the wonderful visability through the windshield hit the nail on the head. The red dash lighting is friendly on the eyes when driving at night. Rear passenger map lights, CD changer, numerous storage spaces and comfy seats are also appreciated bonuses in this car. I suggest a test drive. It doesnt take long to get comfy in one.
