I have always owned Hondas, but this car blows away my 2003 Honda Accord. The Mazda has better style, performance, and standard features.

I had a 93 Lexus ES300. I loved that thing to death but the tranny started slipping; you know the repair on that wouldnt be cheap. Anywho, I went into the dealer thinking Id get a 3. Well, rebates and a heck of a deal later I drove away in a Lapis Blue 6s Grand Touring PKG. I love it. Still not up to Lexus refinement, but everything about the car I love. I get looks and compliments all the time. Everyone wants to take my car everywhere! The 6 is really almost in a class or its own. My sister got an Altima a week before I got the 6 and Im convinced, no matter how much smaller the 6 is, its better than most in its category.

  • Move over Maxima - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

Car is a lot of fun to drive. In sales, my car is my desk and this car fits the bill. Map lights (front and back). My kids love to read and the lights dont interfere with my vision. Storage compartment in front dash is very convenient. Car has plenty of pep and the manual shifting is slick when you want to play. I had two Maximas before this and this car is in the same league.

Had searched for a car with utility that didnt sacrifice performance and looked good. The 6s Sportwagon is a great do all car. Handles great, good performance from the 220 hp V6 and has a ton of room and nicely thought out convenience features. The quality of materials is excellent (although the interior door pull is a bit cheap feeling, hard plastic). I have the heated leather seats which are supportive with just the right amount of side bolsters. Nice, modern layout of gauges, quality and stylish. Will tell more after 12K miles as far as long term driving. Looked at Honda (Accord and new Civic), Nissan (Altima) as well as the Impala. This car stands out.

  • I love my car! - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

I chose Mazda again because I had owned a 1980 Mazda 626. I had the car for 6 years and never had a problem. This car ( the 6 ), though, is another thing altogether. I bought the car in Dec 2002 and I STILL feel like I GET to drive it! Its fun, extremely nimble, sporty and has never let me down. The interior is leather with a Bose system that sounds fabulous. I have a moon roof and a spoiler and I still get compliments on this car! It will be a long time before I trade this baby in!

  • Anyone Else Experiencing Electrical Issues?? - 2005 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Purchased the car used from a dealer in January 2008. Within 6 months, started to notice issues with the clock not lighting up. This ultimately progressed to the entire dash not lighting up, or flickering. Now, the radio turns on and off by itself, and is a real nuisance when driving. I was told by the dealer that to correct this problem it will be over $1000. Needless to say, I dont have the money now to do this. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Was there ever a recall on this issue? I couldnt find one. Other than forking over $1000 to get this issue corrected, what has anyone else done to remedy the situation?

  • dont get what you pay for..... - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

Switching from a Outback I was looking forward to a smaller, sleeker wagon but Im not won over by this one. Some minor but noticeable cons: It comes with an ashtray ... who uses an ashtray anymore? Making room for the ashtray storage seems wasteful. It has a built in storage for sunglasses above the rear view mirror which doesnt allow moms to clip on their 2nd rear view mirror for the kids. Lastly, a big CON, the rear windows go down ALL THE WAY. Im used to rear windows stopping about 8" from the bottom; anyone with infants be aware, the rear windows come all the way down. Also for some reason the air conditioner runs automatically. I dont get why that is?

First car, First of all it drove great and is fun to drive, i put a Cold air and magnaflow on her (2.3) sounded beautiful but the interior was a peice of trash, the LCD notoriously on mazda 6 went out great cool 150 bucks to replace... the mapbox above the radio sucked and the lid broke the 6 disc cd changer cds no longer cycle well... overall 90k miles no problems except for the trashy interior

  • The Pros and Cons of a Mazda6 - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

The 2.3L 4-cylinder engine found in the Mazda6 is completely adequate for most people, but when combined with the body of the Mazda6, causes some noticeable deficiencies. 1) The body weighs too much overall. This leads to mediocre acceleration. I will say, however, the speed and power available on long uphill grades is above average. 2) The body is low-profile. This means you cant put standard chains on the front tires. Only cables or low-profile chains (which are extremely expensive). 3) If you drive much past 90 mph, the downforce winds and centrifugal force on the tires cause the tires to rub against the wheel wells. The engine is capable of more than the body can take

I choose the Mazda 6 over the BMW 330i, because of its looks both inside and out. The warrenty also made the car more appealing. More for your money, than the BMW
