This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Mazda 3 sees a number of changes. Although these include a minor exterior refresh involving mainly the taillights, most are more functional. Now standard on all Mazda 3s are a tire-pressure monitor, an auxiliary input jack for the stereo, a rear-seat center armrest and an additional power point in the console. A stability control system becomes available on the Touring and Grand Touring trims.

Pros:
  • Athletic handling, refined engines, strong brakes, sharp styling, top-notch build and materials quality, hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Top safety equipment either optional or on higher trims, tight rear legroom, so-so fuel economy with 2.3-liter engine.

  • Your opinions helped me, so... - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I researched various cars over a year ago before my purchase, and online reviews were a large part of it. To return the favour, Ill write about my Mazda 3 5-door. Everything about it is great. My boyfriend has an Avalanche and can barely afford to drive it, but my car, even with the high gas prices, is $45 every 2 weeks. And I drive home at lunch every day. The back seats fold down so my 2 large dogs can fit in the back without destruction, and with the hatchback I just lift up the trunk to let them jump in. I hesitated to get the fit, scion a & versa as they were puny. This car has some guts but is sporty and versatile at the same time. Cheers.

Ive had the car about 8 months now. There are lots of features my car has for the money. Tilt/telescoping steering wheel, HID manual leveling lights, auto wipers, leather, air bags all around the car. AC is powerful. Audio/cruise control on the steering wheel is convenient. The 2.3 shifts up well and holds onto gears when needed though downshifts are a little abrupt at low speeds. Gas mileage is only decent and was expecting more but cant really complain considering acceleration and how I drive. Car handles extremely well at low and high speeds. Steering is sharp and impressive, with very little float while the car stays composed over bumps. Brakes have good progressive feel.

Just recently purchased a brand new M3iT, and I must say, I have only one thing that wish was different with the car - a remote trunk release on the fob. Handling is amazing, with the independent rear end, and the variable power assist steering never has it been so fun to make to U-turns! The 2.0 is quick and responsive even when paired with the AT. The auto stick makes normal runs to the store much more enjoyable, and the trunk is very spacious whatever you may have (60/40 rear seat too). The front seats are adjustable in a few ways. The lumbar support, height, reclining, and the telescopic steering wheel makes sure your comfortable in any position.

  • Great little car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I bought my car used. Have owned it for two years. It is fun to drive. Stiff suspension so expect it to feel every bump on the road. It feels as smooth as butter on smooth roads and the road noise isnt that bad. The A/C is strong in the warmer months as well as the heat for winter. I dont like the black interior. It is very hot, even in the winter. I have had to turn on my A/C in the winter to cool the car down. Not good car to drive in Maine winters when snow begins to accumulate. Too low, at least for me. I love my car but need to give it up for small SUV that can handle the deeper snow that I drive in. In general, you will not be disappointed if you own this car.

It was time to trade in the Infinity. My wife wanted a smaller car with better gas mileage, but still wanted all the goodies. We looked hard the the Infinity g35 and M series. We drove Acura, Toyota, Lexus and BMWs. The Mazda dealership was next door to the BMWs. Just for the heck of it, we took a looksee. She saw a Mazda3 and asked for a test drive. The smile on her face was priceless. I cannot tell you how much fun this car is to drive. It didnt have all the amenities compared to the luxury cars, but it had enough. I could not believe it was under $20K. It drives and handles like a dream. I drive it whenever she lets me. By the way, we are in our early fifties!

  • Very safe car!! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

This vehicle is such a safe vehicle! I lost control of this vehicle on a windy and bumpy road. It rolled at least four times. The passenger compartment was for the most part intact! It protected me and my other 2 occupants. Cops say that we should be all dead. But thank goodness I had chosen a very safe vehicle! So I would personally recommend this vehicle due to its fun to driveness, its safety, and its handling. This vehicle had so many memories in it. You will create so many. You will absolutely love to drive this vehicle so you get your moneys worth out of it. I would say buy this vehicle for sure! I miss this car even though I now have a Mazda6 S Grand Touring Sedan. Very safe!

Although I am used to V8 power, this car has enough power for most conditions. You have to give up something for twice the gas mileage. Handling and ride are impressive for a compact car. I drove a Mazda6 for a few days, and I would rather have the 3.

Fun to drive! This car corners like its on rails. Hugs the road with little to no body lean. Compared this with Honda, Toyota, and American counterparts and this one was the most fun to drive with great build quality. Lives up to the "zoom zoom" motto. Drives like a car in a higher class. After 1k miles, 22.3 MPG (80% city driving), but Im a lead foot anyway. This trim comes with great safety features (ABS, side airbags, dynamic stability control). The ride may be too stiff for some. For the money, skip the factory navigation. If youre considering a car in this class, give this one a test drive; youll be glad you did.

  • 5 door fun - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

The 3 5-door Gran Touring is a solid, well put together vehicle that is fun to drive. As a suburban commuter, i get 23 MPH. The original Goodyear RSA tires were bad, only got 18,000 miles out of them, and they were terrible in bad weather. Put on slightly wider yokahamas that are terrific. This car is heavy, and a bit of a pig off the line, but at speed is handles well, accelerates well, and is comfortable.
