This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Mazda 3 sees a number of changes. Although these include a minor exterior refresh involving mainly the taillights, most are more functional. Now standard on all Mazda 3s are a tire-pressure monitor, an auxiliary input jack for the stereo, a rear-seat center armrest and an additional power point in the console. A stability control system becomes available on the Touring and Grand Touring trims.

Pros:
  • Athletic handling, refined engines, strong brakes, sharp styling, top-notch build and materials quality, hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Top safety equipment either optional or on higher trims, tight rear legroom, so-so fuel economy with 2.3-liter engine.

  • Wow, I really like this car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Well I just bought a used 2007 Mazda 3 and I have to admit, I like this car. Boarder line love this car. I went from a BMW 5 series to this car because of the need for better gas mileage and my BMW was getting a little long in the tooth. Although, not as quite and as luxurious as the BMW it has all the same features and then some. And, over 30 miles to the gallon and when you commute 80 miles a day that adds up very fast. All in all, I really love this car. Sporty, handles better than the BMW and surprised at how well the 2.3 preforms. I was a little worried about the whole handling in the snow thing but the previous owner put on some great tires and it is AWESOME! Highly recommend this car.

  • Whole lotta fun for under $20k - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

We were looking for a fun to drive small sedan for under the $20k mark. This was going to be used mainly by my wife and her requirements were to have a 5 speed manual, leather seats, decent handling and four doors. The 2.3L Grand touring fit the bill perfectly. We also looked at the new Rabbit but it had no real "fun factor". The Mazda 3 handles fantastic and the high revving engine makes the car feel faster than the speedometer is indicating. Curves and turns in the "3" are very tight and the car feels more like a BMW 3 series than a $20k sedan. In my opinion you will not find a better sedan with sporty characteristics than the Mazda 3.

  • Its just OK - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I have had my Mazda for a year and a half. Had some problems with the tires, they say that "thats just how theyre made", so I am having to replace them after 33000 miles! And Ive already replaced one due to a blow out! Love to drive it. But its much too loud. Lots of road noise. Lots of fun features.

  • Mazda 3 Sport - poor mileage - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Purchased car in June 2007, has been in the shop for poor mileage and squeaky brakes twice in less than a year. Mazda claims the car will get 31 m/gal city and 41 m/gal highway. The best Ive gotten so far is 29 m/gal - this was obtained on an all highway road trip. Worst was 22 m/gal. Response from Mazda is that the mileage is considered normal??!! I will not buy another Mazda, they claim false numbers and will not stand by the product to find out whats wrong even when they agree theres a problem.

  • Nice little unit - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

Fun to drive. It has a lot of nice little "luxury" items standard in this model. I am 64" and my wife is 53" and we both can fit, though when I am driving my right leg is a little tight against the console. The passenger side is very comfortable. Only real complaint is there is a LOT of road noise, tires and wind are a lot louder than I was expecting

  • Baby BMW - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

If BMW built a compact car this would be it, handling, design, interior all are great for the price. No problems thus far and when pushed to limit corners like a sports car.

  • My axela experience - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I love the car hands down. It makes me happy whenever I turn it on. Sound system is decent along with everything in it. Only complaint is the fuel economy. If it can be improved by like 2-4 more miles Ill be happy. Im planning to add an intake system to increase mpg along with horpsepower. The value of this car is tremendous and I love it as much as my better half.

  • Slides around in snow really bad - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
    By -

If you are considering buying a used 07, this car is great, until there is snow on the road. It isnt anywhere close to being safe in the winter. The tires are too low. Id have to change the wheels to get an all weather tire on it and with those big brakes, Im not even sure it could be done. If you live where it doesnt snow, the car is great, buy it. If you live where it snows, dont even consider it. If I didnt also have a 4- wheel drive pick-up to drive, I would have sold this car the first winter I had it.

  • Mazda3 i Leaves Little to be Desired - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

Just recently purchased a brand new M3iT, and I must say, I have only one thing that wish was different with the car - a remote trunk release on the fob. Handling is amazing, with the independent rear end, and the variable power assist steering never has it been so fun to make to U-turns! The 2.0 is quick and responsive even when paired with the AT. The auto stick makes normal runs to the store much more enjoyable, and the trunk is very spacious whatever you may have (60/40 rear seat too). The front seats are adjustable in a few ways. The lumbar support, height, reclining, and the telescopic steering wheel makes sure your comfortable in any position.

  • Great little car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

I bought my car used. Have owned it for two years. It is fun to drive. Stiff suspension so expect it to feel every bump on the road. It feels as smooth as butter on smooth roads and the road noise isnt that bad. The A/C is strong in the warmer months as well as the heat for winter. I dont like the black interior. It is very hot, even in the winter. I have had to turn on my A/C in the winter to cool the car down. Not good car to drive in Maine winters when snow begins to accumulate. Too low, at least for me. I love my car but need to give it up for small SUV that can handle the deeper snow that I drive in. In general, you will not be disappointed if you own this car.
