Overview & Reviews
Lincoln's front-wheel-drive luxo-barge gets a bigger grille (just what it needs) and rounded corners. It also gets an interior freshening that replaces the digital clock with an analog timepiece.
- Jaquaresque styling on a full-size American road schooner. Powerful twin-cam V8 engine.
- Poorly sorted suspension. Lousy resale value.

Very Impressive ! - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By Dave B (Mr D) - June 14 - 3:03 pmOnly had this vehicle for a few weeks, but Im impressed. Had 107k miles when purchased, but still looks new and a great ride too. Gray with chrome really sets it off! If you ask me, this is just as luxurious as the Town Car. Thank you Lincoln.

Big Dollar Bang for the Buck - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By M2EnhanceU - May 7 - 2:03 amI got this car at such a good price that every time I drive it I feel like I stole it! For having over 180,000 miles when I bought it it runs and drives great! The wife ran it into a tall median so I had to get an alignment which required replacing the lower ball joints & inner tie rods as well and new front tires as the wifes "median job" caused the not that old ones to prematurely wear out about 700 miles later. Great engine! The old song "Hot Rod Lincoln" frequently comes to mind. Turn the traction control off and itll smoke the front tires on dry pavement, really surprises the hot rods at stoplights! All in all a great car, at 10 years old its stayed in great condition. Fun and style!

Still Going Strong! - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By bigB - October 9 - 10:00 pmI bought this car when it was ten years old and had 86000 miles on it. I must say I wasnt looking for a Lincoln, but it was sitting next to the car I was looking at, and after checking it out on Edmunds, went back to test drive it. Wow, what a car! 21 mpg in town, and 25 on hwy! Had to have the rear air suspension R&R and went with a retro fit set of springs which the local ford dealer installed after I purchased them online. One of the best cars Ive owned.

Perhaps the Best Ill Ever Own - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By Steele - January 31 - 2:00 amI bought my 98 Continental 9/00 for $11,500, with 107,800 miles on it ... because my 17 year old son fell in love with it. Today, it has 216,000 on it, and my son just bought it $4,500). Tires, batteries, brakes and oil changes were my expenses until 155,000 when I got my first tune-up. Recently, I replaced two tie rods, had an alignment, changed the timing belt and all pulley belts. It has cost me 2.2 cents a mile in maintenance, 5.5 cents a mile in gas, and only 6.7 cents a mile depreciation! Adding insurance and taxes, it cost me 18 cents a mile to drive a superb luxury car (with a 260 HP engine) that gets me compliments everywhere I go.

Nothing beats this Lincoln! - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By Greg - May 20 - 2:16 amCar had 97k on it when I bought it. Today it has 173,000 and still runs excellent. Zero problems! Zero. Had to replace tires of course and I believe maybe the tie rod ends are ready to be replaced. Expensive, but big deal compared to what Ive saved.

Pretty nice ride..... - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By "Mr. Stubbs" - August 31 - 2:00 amBought this used (hey -- Im a Ford man) cause I refuse to pay big bucks for this or any kind of car - beside, theres a lot of good used ones out there - so I found this super clean 98 Connie in pale gold with low miles (30K) and got the "whole enchelada" extended warranty. I love the ride of this pimpmobile! The 32 valve engine has a really sweet sound. One of the best cars Ive had.

Incredible! - 1998 Lincoln Continental
By Daddy MC - August 8 - 2:00 amNo more cramped bone jarring rides for me! I love this car! Pearlescent Ivory with fabric roof (how do you care for that anyway?) When they demonstrated all the options I could hardly keep from giggling like a school- boy! Ive never owned a car so nice. It has an distinctive look and and elegant ride. I was amazed how affordable a used Lincoln is.
