Overview & Reviews
Lincoln's luxury liner gets added safety in 1999 with the addition of standard side airbags for the driver and front passenger. There's also five new exterior colors, upgraded interior trim options, two new wheel designs and an improved audio system. Otherwise the Lincoln remains unchanged after its major rework in 1998.
- High tech options and increased safety for a competitive price.

Never again - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By Kcwayne - December 27 - 10:00 amI bought the 99 Lincoln new, and ownership has been a nightmare. I have had a bad alternator, a bad AC compressor, bad fuel pump, and a catastrophic failure of the rear suspension. Each visit to the shop was a multi-week excursion. It took the service department 5 weeks to figure out what was wrong with the fuel pump, and 3 visits to find out that the problem with the AC was the compressor. The transmission is acting like it is ready to go now. Thankfully, it is a lease, and Lincoln gets it back next week! I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy a Lincoln product again.

This car is perfect - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By YoungWhipperSnapper - October 2 - 10:00 amI love my Lincoln. The 275hp V8 is plenty to kick me up I-70 from denver. I usually do 75 at 3000ish RPM up to the Eisenhower tunnel, blazing by everything on the road. This thing does surprisingly well in bad conditions. I love all the gadgets and toys.

Love It - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By Brandi13 - December 17 - 10:00 amWe love this vehicle. We use it as a family car and there is plenty of room for two children with lots of trunk space. Milage is good for a V8 at 22 miles per gallon. The vehicle handles great and runs great. Only thing that has needed to be done after 126000 miles was brakes and wheelbearings. Love the vehicle, hard to compare to others.

Last Ford for us.............. - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By vroy - December 8 - 2:00 amIve owned many Ford products but this one is the best on luxury and the worst on performance quality. It is the end of an era. With 71,000 Im replacing a transmission $2200.00. Ford cant make up its mind to rebuild or replace, duh, the torque converter failed and ruined the transmission and they cant decied what to do???? Power seat tracks that failed, outside power mirrors failed, and two of eight coils failed at $120.00 each to replace at less that 50K miles. I never had that much trouble with a Mercury Topaz with 200K miles or my F-150 with 125K miles, or my Mercury Cougar with 130Kmiles.

Really Like this car! - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By Tony - July 14 - 1:36 pmIm really sorry to learn that this car will no longer be built. I was looking forward to purchasing a new one. The car rides great, looks great and has very good performance. For a car of its size, it also gets pretty good gas mileage.

Great Car! - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By clujborn - June 18 - 3:44 amWe purchased this car 5 years ago and its been the most reliable car we ever had.Its got 152 K miles and no problems. The looks of this car are timeless.I cant believe Edmunds calls it "boxy" what? Its got 4.6 lt v8 @275 hp and gets 25 mpg hwy.Need i say more?Awesome car but transmissions were kind of fragile in this car so make sure you change that trans oil no later then every 30K miles.

Excellent car, love the syle but.... - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By BBernstein - June 4 - 10:00 amI absolutely love my 1999 Lincoln Continental, however, I have had an annoying transmission alert from the computer indicating a problem and then obvious lurching at 30-40 mph. Dealer checked it out a half dozen times at least and it is still going on. It is under warranty and we are dealing now on a new transmission to correct the problem.

Stinkin Lincoln - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By Sokratez - March 27 - 10:00 amIn the two years that I have owned this pre-owned car, I have had nothing but headaches. Luckily the car was under warranty when the A/C went up. Now the warranty has expired, I am up the creek with no paddle having to get a transmission that doesnt have 65K, on it rebuilt. This is a sorry excuse for quality. This is my first American car, and it will definitely be my last FORD. FORD motor needs to get their priorities in order. This car is a good- looking hunk of junk.

Best Car I have ever Owned - 1999 Lincoln Continental
By Lenny - January 12 - 10:00 amI have owned several Licolns in my life, but the 1999 Continental has exceeded every expectation. Its comfort and beauty meet any expectation of luxury and its performance and handling are outstanding. I am anxious to see what Lincoln has in store for the 2004 model.
