An all-new Sportage returns after a two-year hiatus. It's now a car-based SUV intended to compete with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

Pros:
  • Generous passenger and cargo space, stylish and functional interior, standard side and head curtain airbags, hard-to-beat warranty, standard ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Down on power and cargo capacity versus its competitors.

This is the third Kia I have owned, and feel they have come along way since the old style of Sportage. Ive had both. This one is by far better than the old style. My boyfriend owns the Sorento and a friend bought a Sportage because she liked our cars so much.

Very inexpensive "Volvo" looking car that comes with comfortable seats and plenty of room for driver and guests.

Great around town...great mileage..plenty of room front and back compared to other SUV in its category. Great storage space with when lowering seats front passenger and back. Great features: sunroof, cruise control, MP3/CD, etc. No tire on back....under rear space.

Bought used 3 yrs ago with 48000 on it. Just turned 100,000. I have only needed to replace tires, brakes, & timing belt assembly recommended at 100,000, & rear wheel bearing. I love this little Sportage! Gets 18 to 24 mpg depending on winter or summer. I put tow package on it for my pop up camper, pulls easily. Issues I have is the parking lights burn out constantly, and the hatch door latches are somewhat stuck, odd. Runs great, its peppy! Regular oil changes & tire rotations are the only "maintenance" Ive had to perform. Wish it had a higher towing capacity for the V-6 but learned its because it has a light-duty rear axle. Cant speak for the newer Sportages, but this one is awesome!

Ive had my new 2005 KIA Sportage less than one week and I am very impressed with the roomy and very comfortable interior. Standard safety features and the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty were major factors in my decision to purchase this SUV. Standard features included traction and stability control as well as side curtain airbags for driver and passenger. The rear seats recline and fold down easily. The overall quality of this vehicle is very good.

Dealership let me take it home for a few days to try it on for size, The 2nd day the engine check lite came on while on interstate Hwy. took it to dealership the 3rd day to have someone look at it for me. But service was busy eating lunch was told to come back the next day. Went to GM told him of problem; lunch was over in 30seconds. it took a GM and 5 minutes to cure problem. 4th day A/C had foul odor. 5th day wife took it to work; on the way home A/C went out went back to dealership around 0700hrs/ Kia Rep at dealership could not find problem and it is now 1300hrs. dealership is now freaking out trying to locate me another Sportage EX Lux Pkg very hard to find in the bayou state with hot temps.

This is the second Sportage that I have purchased and have enjoyed everything about both cars. The first was a 2000 model and was very happily surprised when the 2005 model came out. Purchased in a hurry and have not been disappointed. Would recommend this car to anyone.

We traded an Acura MDX and a Ford Focus to get one Sportage for my wife and a second for my daughter. So far, they are great vehicles and a really good value. They drive well, have great safety features and feel solid. Since they are a first year model, only time will tell on reliability. So far, no complaints at all.

I have had my sportage for 3 months now and I love everything about it. I think it is awesome both inside and out and it is really fun to drive. The design of the care is really cool compared to the old sportage and the inside is really handy to haul things in. All the passanger seats lay flat to be able to get a 8 foot box inside. The only downside is the gas mileage approximately 19-20 in city and i havent taken it on the highway for a trip yet. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to everyone. A couple of my friends who have drove my sportage have also loved it.
