Overview & Reviews
An all-new Sportage returns after a two-year hiatus. It's now a car-based SUV intended to compete with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
- Generous passenger and cargo space, stylish and functional interior, standard side and head curtain airbags, hard-to-beat warranty, standard ABS and stability control.
- Down on power and cargo capacity versus its competitors.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - 2005 Kia Sportage
By TIM - November 3 - 7:30 pmGets 21 miles to the gallon. Stalls at stops/near stops. Have taken it in 2 times to be fixed, and they are unable to do anything about. Have had numerous other problems in the past 1.8 years. Generally, a poorly made vehicle. Am now getting rid of it.

Better than expected - 2005 Kia Sportage
By KiaOwner - August 31 - 9:30 amWeve had the car about 4 months and 6,000 miles now and have been very pleased with it. Other than a recall on the gas tank, weve no problems with it. The dealership was very unhelpful right from the purchase, but the payoff has been a great vehicle for relatively little cost. We looked at all of the small SUVs and this one was by far the most comfortable and well assembled. Its small enough to move around easily but big enough to throw a bunch of groceries in back and carry 5 people comfortably. Its quiet -- much more so than any car Ive owned before. For the money, I couldnt be more pleased with it. I like it much better than my sister-in-laws CRV!

Love it! - 2005 Kia Sportage
By Chris - June 18 - 10:03 amI traded in my Chrysler 300C (yes, the Hemi) for my Sportage because I wanted to pay less money and needed a car that conquers Clevelands snowy winters. I knew I would be tacking on some negative equity but received minimal with the Kia. Almost bought a new, unsold 2004 4X4 Hyundai Sante FE, but it had this subtle whistling whine at highway speeds. I LOVE my Kia! It drives like a car, the stereo is fantastic, the wind noise is mininmal with the sunroof open and it accelerates quickly and very smooth (apples & oranges comparing acceleration with my Hemi). I cant wait to drive the AWD in the snow with confidence. The rear seats fold flat and the rear legroom is very generous.

Love My New Sportage - 2005 Kia Sportage
By new owner - June 7 - 11:53 amI love the new style and ride! It has been a head turner already and has all the bells and whistles that more affordable SUVs have, yet half the price, oha nd the gas milage is great too. I am getting 23-26 mpg!

LOVE OUR SPORTAGE! - 2005 Kia Sportage
By Helen - May 28 - 3:56 pmWow! We love it! We test drove & purchased after driving comparable SUVs in the smaller but updated category. We also own a 2004 Kia Sedona & love the van after 2 Dodge Caravans. The worst vans we ever owned as I have heard from many! Look at JD Powers reviews. We look forward to many years with our "KIA Family. My extended family has also purchased a Kia Sedona & a Kia Sportage.

Glad I bought Kia - 2005 Kia Sportage
By maryt - May 18 - 3:36 pmI had my Sportage 3 years and really love it. Handles well, carries everything I need. I downsized from a Blazer and could not be happier. The few times I have had to have it serviced have been good experiences.

Excellent Overall Package - 2005 Kia Sportage
By RandM - May 16 - 10:43 pmFinally it arrived, and just in time for my wife and I to trade our ailing Passat in for such a fantastic vehicle. If you look at the interior fit and finish alone, youll be astounded like we were. The performance is great, the ride is awesome and the look (and ride) is much better than its cousin Tucson (by Hyundai). What makes my wife and I smile is that we get a bigger vehicle, with better saftey features, better warranty and V6 power at a price that was less than our 5-speed 1999 Passat. No wonder these are selling so fast! You really need to check em out, there are features galore (including adjustable height on center armrest, shopping bag hooks, MP3 player). Great Job Kia!!!

Love My Sportage - 2005 Kia Sportage
By Gail Merritt - April 18 - 7:13 amI have owned a Sportage since 1998. I loved my first one but my new Sportage is way beyond comparison. The ride is smooth, the exterior is beautiful. I wanted something that didnt look like you were driving a box around and I found it in the new Sportage; its classy looking yet sporty. This car is even approved by my teenage grandson. The performance of the car is more that I expected and so far I havent found anything that I dislike about it. Youve got a hit in this one!
