  • Well Kept Secret - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

I feel like Ive discovered one of the best kept secrets of the automotive world in the Kia Sportage EX. I bought this vehicle in 2WD with the luxury package and couldnt be happier with it. OK, it could use a little more horsepower, but what it has is certainly adequate. What has really surprised me, though, is the overall fit and finish of the vehicle. I own three Honda Accords and the Kia is right up there with the Hondas. The Kia is well laid out; driver and passenger ergonomics are excellent; driving position is very comfortable; and the vehicle is plenty roomy on the inside, while relatively small on the outside. I like this more than the 2001 Pathfinder I owned for one year.

  • Love my Kia - 2005 Kia Sportage

We looked at many GM SUVs. The prices with a limited warranty was outrageous. This is our first non GM vehicle. So far we love it. The 100,000 warranty sold me. Hopefully we will continue to love it and we will have a long relationship with Kia. The prices are $4000-$10,000 less than GM.

  • The SUV Comeback - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

My experience was that when I first test drove the Sportage, it was a lot whole lot different than the 2002 predecessor. The exterior was a little bit more taller than the 2002 version. The interior was even nicer than the old one too! Below the front passenger airbag was some kind of handle bar just to hold on to.

  • They Got It Right This Time - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

This vehicle is a huge improvement over the original Sportage. Fit and finish is superb, and the suspension is tight as a drum. The highway ride is smoother than many of the larger so- called "luxury" cars Ive tried. Cornering is effortless, with none of the "about to roll-over" feeling from the bigger SUVs. Interior room is astonishing; even big folks are comfortable in the back seat. The 6 Cyl engine is peppy, if a little less than economical (so far I am getting 19 MPG combined, but its still a new engine). The 6-speaker CD sound system is worth the price of admission, with amazing bass response.

  • Great for City, No Gas Saver When Traveling - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

I bought this 5 speed manual model because most of the time I am driving in the city, great performance, handling, brakes etc. But when traveling the gas economy is very low, especially if you go between 55-80MPH, because the 5 speed is too short, the engine runs at 4K RPM when you are around 75 mph. That means no more than 24 MPG, same at the city. The rest is great.

  • Mixed Feeklings - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

The check engine light has been on from day one. I spent too much time at the dealer attempting to resolve the problem. I have just under 100,000 miles and the transmission is being replaced for the third and last time, since I dont plan to keep it to have the fourth one installed.

I love my Sportage. She is beautiful to look at, a great comfortable ride and has quite alot of get up and go. The price was right and I like the new size. Alot of room. Just perfect for me.

This vehicle replaces our 2002 ford focus se 4door the sportage is a very nice car like suv to drive feels tight and sporty and drives nothing like any of the suvs in this class that i have test driven ford escape, honda crv, toyota rav4 and has many standard features that the others offered as options such as electronic stability control, traction control and V6 4x4

  • Great bargain!! - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

We compared the CRV, RAV4, and the Sportage, and for the price, the Kia is hard to beat. The CRV and RAV4 might have better reliability but the Kia is not far behind and their warranty is otstanding. We got a fully loaded Sportage for less than a mid- level CRV LX.

  • Im Amazed - 2005 Kia Sportage
    By -

Having owned (2) 2002 2 Door Sportages (which we both loved dearly), I am amazed at the improvements for the 2005 model year. This one is for my wife and she loves it even more than the 2002. The fit, finish, and standard features are unbelievable. The vehicle is a joy.
