Great Vehicle - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Jeep Fan - April 8 - 2:00 amMy only complaint is the gas mileage. I like everything about my Jeep. Next time I will pobably get more options. My husband loves it too! Ps. for mothers out there it is really nice not having to bend down to get your kids in the carseat, definate plus.

You really pay for the 4.0 in-line V-6 - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By DWS - March 15 - 10:00 amI love this car, but Im going broke filling it up all the time. Im only getting 265 miles out of a 19.6 gallon tank of gas. It has a ton of power and I can lay some scratch off the line. It came with the pathetic and ugly steel wheels, but I upgraded to the "Gambler" 5-hole style alloy wheels that you see on the upgraded wranglers sometimes. It gives it a whole new look. I also recommend adding side-step bars and a bug shield.

Great little offroader/suv - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Bacchus_mn - March 2 - 2:00 amI have had good luck with my Cherokee. No problems other than routine maitenance. If you are into the outdoors this is a great vehicle. I have gone through things I wouldnt dare with other vehicles. And the Cherokee is just the perfect size; youre able to haul stuff with the back seat taken out but can also manuever around downtown easily unlike some enormous SUVs.

The best Jeep ever! - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By flyboy - December 16 - 10:23 pmOk, I bought this great Jeep in 2004 and I have put on over 80,000 miles without anything more than wear and tear slowing me down. Extremely reliable, why did they get rid of this?

Not a single problem - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Doc Stevens - September 18 - 10:40 pmBought at 15k and driven daily since 2001. A great vehicle. No major issues. Great fun to drive. The 4.0L puts the "sport" in sport utility! Built solidly, no rattles, etc. It is a shame that Jeep stopped making this body style and this porven engine. The new Liberty looks like all of the Japanese SUVs out there.

2 door bigwheel pimp! - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By dj - September 16 - 11:33 pmI got my Jeep in October of 2007 and I love it! I received it with 93,000 miles on it and it has bout 120,000 miles now. Just recently I had to replace the crank shaft censor and the radiator fan assembly, but overall its a great build and like a rock. Mine is 2 door and White with tent and I have big bowlegged tires on it and I just changed the grill to chrome to match my rims. I am officially obsessed with my Jeep and its brand.

Mixed bag - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By spikester - August 8 - 7:53 pmThis is the second Jeep 4.0 motor vehicle that I have owned. This version is the high output version (approximately 190 hp). I bought this used and specifically wanted the "sport" version for its increased off-road ability. These small Cherokees are very reliable. A bit snug inside - the rear seat isnt made for adult Americans. Gas mileage is about 16 combined which isnt bad for a 4x4 with a/c and auto trans. Rides too stiff for the wife. The price you pay for the "sport" suspension. No cruise control either.

Its good for me... - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Ramblerman - March 23 - 10:10 pmI bought this Jeep with 117,000 miles on it. I had to rebuild the steering and put tires on it. The exhaust manifold was broken (a common problem on the 4.0L Jeep motors), but I replaced it with a lifetime guaranteed manifold from Gale Banks Engineering. It runs great and has no problem merging with traffic getting on the Interstate highways. It has the leather seats and I may install seat heaters because of that. It seems a little more cramped inside than my 86 Cherokee, but its still not too bad to drive three hours to work.
