Overview & Reviews
Although the exterior styling may look familiar, Jaguar's historic sales leader, the XJ, has been completely redesigned for 2004.
- Supple ride quality, powerful V8 engines, roomier interior.
- Fussy interior controls, clumsy transmission shifter, CD changer is still in the trunk.

My 7th Jaguar - 2004 Jaguar XJ-Series
By ruyg7 - December 20 - 4:28 amI have never owned more than three of any brand in succesion, but my Jaguars have been an exception. My current 2004 XJ 8 was purchased with 73000 miles 18 months ago, it now has 114000 miles on the odometer It is the MOST dependable used car i have ever owned, except for my new Dodge trucks. This Jaguar routinely gets 28-30 mpg at highway speeds, and 20 mpg in city driving. It has been a dream to own, and has never let me down. The car is dead reliable, a pleasure to drive , and very quick. The interior is very plush, and is resistant to wear and tear. Dont believe the nay sayers about Jaguar reliability, I have owned BMWs and Mercedes cars that were a lot more problamatic than my Jaguars.

So Elegant - 2004 Jaguar XJ-Series
By NoCurfu - September 26 - 10:00 amThis car is so luxurious and the power is amazing. It looks very inocuous from the outside but you should have seen the look on the kids face driving the Mustang that I totally left flat at the stop light! The leather feels great and all the buttons and upgrades (I also have the GPS) are very nice. I am not a big fan of 4 door cars but needed one for hauling around my precious child. This is certainly a wonderful car to drive until I can get back into a sporty 2 door (can you say XJR??!!).

Best Jag Ever! - 2004 Jaguar XJ-Series
By Murray - September 10 - 6:23 amIve driven/owned all luxury vehicles and none have pleased me like the XJ series Jag. This is my fourth one, and I will continue to buy them. No faulting these cars any longer on quality and reliability. And, its still exciting to drive and gets 18/29 mpg in city/highway driving. No BMW, Benz, or Lexus look-alikes for me.

WOW! - 2004 Jaguar XJ-Series
By welchct4 - August 24 - 9:54 amI have owned my, low-mileage (23k), 2004 XJ Vanden Plas for a little over a month now. This automobile is without question the finest automobile that I have ever owned. The quality of the interior blows away anything from Germany or Japan. The electronics (Alpine stereo, Nav, Rear DVD, etc.) are simple, logical and easy to operate. The exterior is a timeless classic and the aluminum body make the MPGs incredible (18-20 city/28-31 hwy). In fact, Ive averaged 27.3 mpg (80% Hwy./20% City) for the first 1,300 miles that Ive owned the car! Ridiculous depreciation, based upon sins of the past, make this without question the best value in the used luxury car market.

Bigger But Better - 2004 Jaguar XJ-Series
By Richie D - June 27 - 2:00 amAt first I was not crazy about the larger and taller exterior size but am now happier about it. The car is faster, quieter, handles much better, and is more comfortable than my 1999 XJR. Dont hit my head when entering anymore. Fuel consumption excellent for a car this powerful - average 17.4 so far, mostly in town. Easier to wash and wax with fewer sharp corners and seams. with fewer seams and sharp corners.
