Overview & Reviews
From the ground up, this is a completely new sport sedan based on the new Ford midsize platform. Lincoln worked with Jaguar to develop this platform, which is also used for Lincoln's LS sedan.
- High-tech features, practical design, classic styling.
- Has to prove its more than a rebadged, overpriced Lincoln LS.

My experience with my 2000 S type Jaguar - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Geogia - January 17 - 10:00 amThis has been an exciting and fun car to drive. Gets lots of looks and compliments from the young to the old. Everyone love the car and how it looks. No problems with the car after one year of ownership. Easy to keep clean--best paint job I have ever seen on a car.

BUY IT NOW - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By jaglover - November 22 - 10:00 amI bought this car in 2000, since, I have put close to 75000 miles on it. I am a traveling salesmen and I drive alot! At first I was a bit wary to get a Jaguar because of its past track record In the 80s and early 90s but since they were bought out I decided to lease one for a year. After six months I broke my lease and purchased on. In 2001 my wife purchased one to. We have three kids and we love to go on road trips this car always has enough room. Take it from me I have owned a BMW, Cadillac, and an Infiniti The jaguar is by far the most reliable and beautiful. BY one TODAY

Great Car - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Brewster - October 16 - 10:00 amAfter owing Mercedes and BMW, I found this car to be a lot of fun! The ride is so smooth. Even after owing the S- type for three years, I still look foward to getting in the car.

Jaguar 2000 S Type 4.0 - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By jagsRfun - July 22 - 2:00 amVery fun to drive. 4.0 version is like a rocket. Lots of power and great handling. There is good road feel while still feeling like a luxury car. Back seat is a little small but usable. Only one small annoyance which is that the glove box vibrates when very cold. The head-turning factor is also great. People assume the car costs much more than it does. Overall, I would buy it again.

Cheap broken plastic bits everywhere - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Aardvark - June 9 - 2:00 amPretty car, atrocious build quality, not so much assembly, but the cheapest garbage plastic everywhere. Inside trim pieces break, but worse, crappy plastic in critical components, including transmission shift gate and window lifts necessitating unreasonably expensive repairs to replace cheap broken parts. Brakes mushy with expensive pads and rotors, front suspension is a disaster. Tie rod ends, hubs, ball joints all made out of crap and need replacement. So if youre lucky, you wont need to do what everybody else has had to: replace the transmission, front end, a/c and heat components, engine coils, window regulators, etc. AND DONT SLAM THE DOORS. Your window regulators will break.

Looks great; pity about the mechanics - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Dr B - December 11 - 2:00 amLove the outside, pity about the workmanship. Yes the interior doesnt hold much room, but I didnt buy it for that. Unfortunately just after the warantee finished both front windows fell off their levers costing and arm and a leg to fix. The moulding on the front of the car also came away.

looks great but repair happy - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By jagowner - December 9 - 10:00 amMy s-type gets rave reviews for style and performance. But the car has many bugs (dashboard, trunk problems, transmission, engine computer, etc). Will sell it as soon as warranty runs out. Cant afford the $54 oil changes, $10 windshield fluid, $50 wipers, and $900 30,000 mile checkup!!

Beautiful But Dont Go There - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By OFFPUTTING - October 5 - 10:00 amIve made 17 trips to the dealership for warranty work. Over 1% of the mileage accrued was logged on trips to and from the dealership. To date Ive spent almost two work weeks of time due to dealer visits. The check engine light has been on for 1/2 of the 45,000 miles logged. A window fell out. Wheel bearings shot. Goofy radio that came on of its own volition. Transmission defect.Sensors failed. If you are lonely and seek human interaction buy a Jaguar 2000 S Type 4.0. You will get loads of human interaction at the dealership because youll visit the folks there frequently. Also be prepared for multiple dealership visits for the same problem.
