  • Ill drive it until it dies! - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

I bought mine used. I needed something for rugged areas & ranch use. It works just fine for town & play too. Lots of room. Takes a licking and never has been a problem. Its durable and reliable - I keep up the routine maintenance. NO PROBLEMS! I go where others do not dare to try. I am really sorry Isuzu does not make this model anymore so I will drive it until either one of us die. I have 85,000 miles on it now and expect another 100,000 based on its performance to date!

Ive had my 99 Trooper for almost a year now. Its been problem free and very dependable. Ive taken it off- road in the sand at the Outer Banks, NC and its performed well. I truly enjoy my Trooper. Ive recently added a 2inch suspension lift and 32inch tires. It looks, rides and handles much better than stock. It should have come this way from the factory! Its very comfortable.

  • Ive owned 3 of them - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

Troopers are great. Shocks can be soft. Many owners replace with Rancho 5000 or 9000 which offers a great improvement. Consumer Reports roll-over test was proved to be unrealistic and is simply not true. Resale value is low but expect 200K miles from this vehicle with no major problems.

  • Love my ZuZu - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

I bought my 1999 Isuzu Trooper new in Jan. 2000 and have had no problems what so ever. I love my ZuZu as much as I did when I purchased it. When I decide to purchase a new vehicle I hope to save it for one of my little girls to have as their first vehicle. Both my girls love it so much they refer to it as "their ZuZu" and cry whenever I tease them about selling it!

  • What a Trooper! - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

What a great vehicle!! We bought our Trooper (with performance/Luxury pkg) new in 1999. We have over 360,000 miles on it to date and its still running strong. Having some troubles now with rear differential, but thats the only problem weve ever had. The proofs in the pudding... if you take care of your cars, theyll take care of you!!

  • Still Love My Trooper - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
    By -

This is the second writeup Ive done for my Trooper since buying it 5/2003 with 52k miles. The truck has been easily the most dependable vehicle Ive owned and that has been over 30 vehicles. Its still one of the most comfortable, dependable, off-road ready vehicles available today and it carries people and cargo with room to spare. Yes, it burns approximately 1 quart of oil every 2-3k miles, but Ive owned Jeeps, BMWs, Toyotas that did the same. Use Seafoam and watch it, you wont have any engine problems. Yes, gas mileage is about 15-16mpg, but Ive hit 18mpg on the highway. If you want the real 4WD, buy a Trooper. If not, buy an Explorer.

  • excellent Trooper - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

This is my third Trooper, previous an 88, and a 94. Both were extremely reliable and comfortable. This one is the same except for oil consumption. Excellent off road and and highway cruiser. I expect to get a couple of hundred thousand reliable miles usage.

  • Steady as rock - 1999 Isuzu Trooper

Bought my Trooper new in 1999, and Ive never had a more reliable vehicle. Im now over 112K miles, and no repair issues whatsoever aside from routine maintenance. In fact, I only replaced my original brakes last month! And no, mine doesnt burn oil *at all*.

  • Did I get a lemon? - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
    By -

This is my second Trooper. Does everyone have good reliability with these vehicles except me? Had to have the auto transmission replaced at 41K - warranty (a $4000 job). Had to have engine manifold valve gaskets replaced. Vehicle has shut off twice while driving down the road. I have heard of others having these problems, but most seem to have no problems. Strange, wonder if all these bad ones were made the same week. At least I still have 20K left on the warranty.

  • Top notch quality vehicle - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
    By -

We love our vehicle. It saved our lives, when we were rear ended by a taxi on Hwy 10, on the west side of Phoenix. I feel completely safe when driving it. It goes anywhere off road. Very dependable. Im short in stature, so, I love the height it gives me, when driving. We bought our vehicle new. We both wish that it could pull our 25ft Avion travel trailor, so we could get rid of the van.
