up to 88k miles since new - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By shawn - September 18 - 7:13 pmI have owned this truck since new and am still have not had any issues besides normal wear items like brakes, wiper, tires & shocks. My wife gets a different car each year and it amazes me that this old Trooper just keeps kicking without a hitch. Excellent power to weight ratio. Ill probably buy something new this year and keep the Trooper just because it is so reliable.

Surprise - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By I-5 Bandit - August 12 - 10:00 amI am pleased with our choice . We needed a family rig that could with stand our life-style. Trips to the Washington mountains loging roads, snow, camping trips and keeping up with 04 Rangers, Tacomas, Jeeps and Z71s. We have been able to go where all others go, and we are usually leading the pack. I put on some BF All terrains...Great move. Am planning to put on some rancho this summer. Yes I do have to add oil every 1500 miles...It just makes me stay on top of oil changes. Has excellent off road ability, have climbed some pucker upper hills, have not rolled or have even been close. Have fun

A l m o s t perfect... - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By easychair - July 16 - 2:00 amMy 3rd Trooper, this is the best one yet. Near-V8 power, great blend of comfort, sensibility, and utility. Nice manners on road, but does everything right in sand, steep hills, big rocks, whatever. Needs a little more grunt for towing my trailer in the AZ mountains. I added LT tires and Rancho shocks. At 57k, reliabilty has been exceptional.

Oil User after 60K - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By Trooper Terry - March 8 - 4:06 amI love this vehicle except for one thing and that is it uses 1 quart of oil per 500 miles. Isuzu knows there is a problem with their 3.5 liter engines, but wont recall them. After the warranty ends at 60K, they start using a lot of oil. The only solution is to replace the small block, which costs about 2 grand. I figured if I just keep adding oil, it would only cost me about 30 bucks a year. I know there are a lot of posts online about this, but Isuzu will never admit it. I love the vehicle other than the oil usage. I had two Isuzu vehicles in the past with few or any problems, this is the first one, I guess they just tried to catch up with the big U.S. SUV too quickly

Happy Camper - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By ridgerunner1 - September 22 - 10:00 amGood room for a mid-size. Great throttle response and power but if you want to tow anything above 2000# you should look at something with a v-8 as mileage drops in half. Better in every way than same year four runner or pathfinder and still has japanese quality. Paid 19.5K with 4800 miles. Depreciation has still been bad. Suspension is mushy around town but libertys, yukons, and denalis cant keep up on washboard roads.

Steves Isuzu Trooper - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By Steve Trooper - May 21 - 10:00 amGreat. Nice, big, & roomy. Interior very flexible for putting things in (seats down/up, etc. + other unique features). Poor gas mileage - 12-14 mpg around town.

Just what I wanted - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By Trooper Fans - May 9 - 10:00 amI bought the Trooper for its TOD, Size and most of all, the fact that it really was a truck under the Sport Utility skin. My wife and I love this car much more than the 1990 Jeep Cherokee it replaced (200k on that one). We plan on keeping this one just as long.

Great Vehicle - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By rd - April 20 - 12:23 amPurchased new with Performance/Luxury pkg. Its been great. Very good legroom in back seat. Reliability has been excellent. Changed front differential fluid today, wear was as expected, no problems. Interior design is simple, still looks good, not real dated. Oil use is not too bad, but some gone at each oil change. TOD works well.

Isuzu is the best truck made, Texas - 1999 Isuzu Trooper
By InfamousKato - January 24 - 10:00 amI dont understand why you have to drive a big truck in TX when the best truvk made is the Trooper. I had already pulled a high-centered Dodge out of the mud....what else do you want?
