  • Best Buy Ever! - 2002 Hyundai XG350

Ive owned 4 Hyundais. I currently also have a 2007 Azera. I bought this one as a left over in early 2003. In 142,000 miles, Ive put $200 into it for non-maintenance repairs. The reliability has been unbelievable. All Ive replaced are tires, brakes, and the battery. And I service the tranny, cooling system and oil regularly. The last time it had a full tune up, it was still in South Korea! The body is still good (paint just starting to weather), the interior has held up fine. The electronics have been good. The cruise control occasionally goes into a funk (it wont resume properly), but its straightened itself out every time. If it died today, it would still be the best car value ever.

Have an 04 Sonata and like it so much that with end of year pricing, rebates and owner loyalty bonus it was a steal at under $17,000 for a sharp 05 XG350. Interior is super, features are as good as the warrenty. Everyone who rides in it loves it. Even though it drinks gas the price makes up for this discontinued car. That seems to be the only drawback. But gas will come down in price?

After reading all the glowing consumer reviews I bought this car, unfortunately for me. I drive a lot and found that the armrest is placed too far back for me to rest my elbow on while driving. This has been a major disappointment for me as I cannot seem to get comfortable while driving. Perhaps men dont have this problem as their arms are longer but I am warning any women to make sure they feel totally comfortable before buying. I also have trouble adjusting the radio while driving, again too far away. I love the looks of the car both inside and out. The front seats could be a little longer though for better leg support.

In general I am very pleased with this car. I love the interior design and overall quality. The exterior is pleasing although a bit stodgy. The engine is adequate, however with 3.5 liters it is way underpowered in both hp and torque compared to what most other manufactures are offering. (Look at Acura with a 3.2 liter engine putting out 270hp.)The car is very pleasing to drive. It is smooth and quiet. One other question is why put in a transmission that can be manually shifted, but shifts automatically when pushed? My only real complaint is that in "city" driving which is where I do 90% of my driving my gas mileage is under 13mpg, which to my way of thinking is where large SUVs should be!

albeit there are a few downs, overall this car is great value for the dollar. good power great comfort, sound system, lights, long term cruise, etc. could use better traction control, overhead sunroof/lights control switches lighted for easy use at night. tire size limits performance and winter options, but on the whole for the price it is a great car that convinces folks it is a higher end product than they expect from hyundai. 10 year bumper to bumper for an extra $800. How can you beat that?

Want a excellent car; that will superize you. Check out what Hyundai has to offer. This car really puts the american car industries to shame. I believe that we have to either keep up with the forign auto industries or be left out; in the pasture to wither away.

Features a-plenty for a car in this price range. If the Sonata is an "entry-level" midsize - this is the "exit-level" midsize. I hope this holds up as well as my Sonata did.
