This Year's Model Updates:

An all-new model last year, the Hyundai Veracruz receives previously optional equipment as standard on the Limited model. A power tailgate and a 115-volt outlet are now available on the SE model, while a Hyundai-first navigation system is now an option on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Excellent build and materials quality, generous standard features list, top-notch crash test results, long warranty, ample power.
Cons:
  • Lifeless steering, not as spacious as some competitors.

  • WELL SATISFIED - WAY TO GO HYUNDAI - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz
    By -

I just purchased my 2008 Veracruz SE (with Power & Leather Package) about two weeks ago and LOVE IT! Bought the Titanium Blue with Gray leather interior. VERY NICE! My wife and I are extremely pleased with our new Veracruz. We love the heated seats, XM radio, power sunroof, power liftgate & backup sensors. I am impressed on how smooth the vehicle rides and there is no outside wind noise. The Veracruz is FUN to drive and has alot of "get up and go" under the hood. I am averaging about 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. The ShiftTronic transmission feature is very nice and comes in handy when driving on step upgrades. A little disappointed that the SE model doesnt have memory seats

  • Problems with being reliable - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

The first week I had It I had to have the battery replaced. The other day I started it up, put it reverse and it gave a hard jolt. 5 minutes later I pressed the gas pedal down and It would only go 5 miles an hour. I stopped, call road service and when he arrived it miraculously was back to normal. The next day, it wouldnt start at all. I do have a 100,000 mile warranty but this is my very first Hyundai. I have always owned Toyotas. I am very discouraged and only hope whatever the problem is, they find it, fix it and I have no more problems. I have never had any problems with any of my new cars before. 4 xs in 2 years is 4 times too much. I have to have a reliable car.

  • One of the best for the money - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

Had the vehicle for a year and half. The ride is quite and smooth even at 80 MPH. We have had one small problem, the rear door seals needed to be replaced due to shrinkage. No MP3 or Ipod adapter. We would buy another Hyundai in the future.

  • New car wont start - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

We bought this car on October 29 and had to have it towed on October 30 because it would not start. It supposedly was repaired on october 30, but on October 31 it would not start again. On November 1, it would not start until we worked with it for fifteen minutes. On November 2, it is being towed again because it will not start at all. Be very concerned about the electrical system in these cars.

  • Suspension noice - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz
    By -

I like this car. I have about 12,000 on it. Have been back to dealer twice for service and one complaint that has not been fixed. It is the excessive suspension noise on uneven pavement. It sounds like car is falling apart. Dealer said I had 50 lb. Of air in tires. Second time back I was told nothing is wrong, but that I had to get used to " driving a truck". Consumer magazine talked about this problem, but nobody else.

  • Excellent Vehicle - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

This is my first Hyundai and Im very happy with the vehicle so far. Had thoroughly reviewed and test-driven several crossovers, including the Highlander, CX-9, Veracruz and Pilot. Overall, Veracruz offered the most options, the best warranty, and the highest bottom line value. Im getting about 16/23 MPG city/highway, which is not bad at all given the vehicle size. If youre in the market for a comfortable mid-size crossover at bargain price, you have to test-drive the Veracruz.

  • A MUST for a GROWING family - 2008 Hyundai Veracruz
    By -

We have been looking for a second SUV that will accommodate our growing family and weve found it in the Vera Cruz. We comparatively drove the Dodge Journey and the Toyota Highlander and the Vera Cruz won out by far. We even parked beside a similar colored silver Lexus and it was obvious the styling was much nicer on the Vera Cruz. We also own a Santa Fe and although we love it as well, the Vera Cruz provides that added extra room when you need it. The 3rd row is enough for adults (issues with the Highlander and Journey) and even with a car seat in the second row you can comfortably fit in another 2 adults beside it (a tight squeeze in our Santa Fe). I would recommend to any family!!
