  • Is it just my car that has gone bad? - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

First when i got it, it was great. but as time goes on it began. Had my Sunroof Fixed 4 times in 1 year (same problem occuring over and over again). also my clutch had to be replaced when the car had less than 19000 miles. Believe me I dont drive like maniac. one more thing, almost 2 year into my Tiburon, my car lock system broke, so had to get it repaired. My 2 years of driving Hyundai, I had gone to dearlership for service more than 7 times. I didnt buy the brand new car to get it serviced every 3 month...Other than that it was fun to drive.

I purchased my 2006 Tiburon SE almost 2 months ago. It is a dream car. I recommend to buy the higher model, the SE. It is well worth the meager $22,000. I first test drove a silver one. And then went to another dealership and found an orange one that I fell in love with. Even though the numbers dont sound like much 2.7 L with 172 hp and $22,000. Its lightning fast.

Ive owned a Ford Mustang LX 5.0 & an Acura Integra GS-R in the past, & this car is just as fun & handles just as well. It could use more pick up/power, but thats my fault for not spending the extra $ to buy the V6. Too bad I had such a horrible experience w/the Hyundai dealer not honoring the lemon law on a used Acura Integra LS they sold me before I bought the Tib.

I love the tiburon-its fun to drive- very zippy with the shiftronic. only complaint is the suspension-very bumpy ride on rough roads. on smooth highway its fine

I am proud to own the vehicle and would not have changed my choice. I think Hyundai has done a wonderful job showing that they can make good cars. It is up to the consumer to get over their "Its a Hyundai" fear. I actually find the interior well thought out. Everything is within easy reach. Yes it is a bit bland, but thatll leave the aftermarket open for flashy stuff if you want it. Although I find the suspension a bit harsh, its not the cars fault, I like it the way it is. Its the blasted roads that need to be fixed...grin.

I bought the car with it having 32,000, It was all good for awhile then a pully went out, then the thermostat broke, then I had to replace the clutch and flywheel at 50,000. The mechanic at the dealer said he was not surprised to know that. Now, the BCM chip is out and is causing my car to have major electrical problems. This car stinks with all the mechanical work that it needs. Just one thing after another. The car is nice for looks but when it comes to reliability, its out the window.

Test drove this car this weekend, what a blast! Drove the automatic, they didnt have a manual avail. For the price its a helluva fun little car to drive. That auto shift gimmick is pretty cool too, Im sure I could go through some trannys. Looks far better than the old Shark!!! To the other two posters your both right auto. comes w/ 16s and the manuals come with 17s.
