I just broke the 1000 mile mark over the weekend...I have owned this vehicle since Feb. 16. This car is really fun to drive, looks amazing inside and out, and has pretty much every feature you could want in a car. I love the Kenwood head unit. At night the car is beautifully lit up on the inside. I cant wait until my first long trip this summer to see how the highway gas mileage is. The car is a 4 cylinder but to me, its not that noticeable. A side note, this car comes with the "tiptronic steering" where you can somewhat experience driving a manual. I would recommend not using this feature...I have in the past in other vehicles and had to replace the transmission.

I drove both a V6 6-speed and a 2.0 5-speed. The cyl GT is a better value, but the 2.0 is better looking. The high spoiler on the GT coupe ruins the appearance of the car, and I would not buy one with it. The saleman actually offered to have it taken off! The base car is the best looking of the lot, but the low spoiler on the 5-speed V-6 GT base model is tolerable. I have to admit that I was tempted by the good looks of the Tiburon, but the interior is not up to the exterior, and in the end I opted for a Mercedes C230 Sport Coupe. If they had a Sprint model V-6 with the low spoiler, I might just have taken it.

  • Decent Daily Driver - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

I bought my Tiburon to serve as a daily commuter. The performance isnt overwhelming, but the V6 offers the torque delivery that makes the car feel much more relaxed on the freeway, and more responsive at the lights. The styling may make it look a lot more potent than it is, however, as its not a fast car by any means. Notably, the rearward visibility in this car is low. It can be quite difficult to back out of spaces simply because you have to take a leap of faith to do it. Overall, Im not disappointed. I test drove an automatic, which was incredibly slow. The manual was the better choice, in my opinion. Ive had a few issues with it, but nothing excessive for a 6- year old car.

  • Great Car (When it Runs) - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon

Very nice, sexy looking car inside and out. Pretty good power for a little beast, with good gas mileage to boot. Nice sound system (compared to the vehicle I was driving before). Unfortunately thats about all I have to say in the positive. Around 90,000 miles this thing started to take a turn for the worse. I replaced the transmission (under warranty). It took a month to do the repairs. 6 months later, another transmission (warranty). 4 months after that, another transmission ($2400). 2 months after that, an engine ($3600). Now it needs suspension work, brake work, and electrical work ($1500).

The 6 speed manual V6 GT version is fun to drive and though its a little lacking in the power department there is still enough power and great torque. Seats are comfortable as well. Good styling, very good price and awesome warranty. Overall great buy.

I just bought my Tiburon SE one week ago. The prices that they are selling these things for is crazy, mine is a brand new 2008 SE with 22 miles on it when I drove it off the lot, all for only $16,000. I sold my 2008 Accent SE and bought the Tiburon. It has a sports tuned suspension which makes it very stiff but handles well, interior is very nice with leather and cloth, nice dash layout, but the car does sit very low and so will you when driven. The exterior is outstanding, looks great, nice lines, dule exhaust, projector head lights, 17" wheels, and it all comes with the best warranty in the business, mine has the remaining 4 years which is still better than GM or Ford.

  • Not so sure... - 2007 Hyundai Tiburon

Really nice car to look at, but to drive - Im not sure yet. Its got some great features, does well on the MPG - I got a amazing deal on it but the car lacks a little power and feels heavy at speed. It almost seems like one of those midlife crisis cars that have appearance but no substance?

  • I like it - 2005 Hyundai Tiburon

My little Tiburon turns heads. I like the fact that very few people in the area have them. The ones I see on the road are from other states. Tiburon has excellent street appeal and beautiful lines. Classy for an inexpensive car.

I got my Tiburon when I was 16 and still have it at 22. Im just now thinking of getting a new car after putting this little thing through hell. It drives well, parks well, can take snow, rain, and just about anything. Mine has had issues with the fuel pump most recently, radiator, thermostat, and a few other things. But this has been a course of 6 years. Its still running and currently my daily driver and has been for several of my family members lots of times. Its a little car, but its tough. Ive had several incidents in it, but it keeps going. If you need something small and reliable, this is definitely it. I have over 200,000 on mine and if it wasnt giving issues that cost more than it was worth and had four doors, Id never want to get rid of it.

Since 2003, the new disgned Tiburon has been setting a trend. This sporty coupe will turn heads as the exterior designor was an ex-Ferrari engineer. The Tiburon has excellent transmission, automatic or manual. With the option of a 5/6 speed manual or an automatic with Shiftronic (allows manual gear operation), the Tiburon is a great 2 door hatchback coupe.
