  • A love/hate relationship... with my car! - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

A very fun car to drive... When it isnt in the shop! Purchased from the dealership with 56k miles on it, one owner, and had problems since I got it! Passengers side strut was busted when I bought it, around $650 to get it fixed. Ran good for a while.. I bumped into a curb and broke the strut again, also set the drivers side airbag off when I hit the curb... Was only going around 15 MPH. Engine had began to make a strange clicking noise when a few weeks later my transmission defaulted to third gear. Transmission fluid and antifreeze began leaking into each other, paint started flaking off spoiler and passengers side mirror, stereo display went out, moonroof rattles very bad when opened.

  • A great car! - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon

I bought this car partly because of the excellent 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty, because the reviews were saying Hyundai had solved quality issues, and the price was right! The main issue for me from day one has been rear visibility, and a problem with the headlights burning out periodically (a minor problem, and replacement was free of course). In sum, I love this car, and am very, very likely to return to Hyundai for my next car! This car new, & loaded, was $14,000! I occasionally research the market for new cars and based on value, quality, and features, repeatedly find Hyundai is best!

  • Its worth all the money - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

Hello, I own a 2003 Tiburon GT V6.I am the son of a retired big-time car dealer. I am 27 years old, married both my wife and I work. I have been a mechanic since I was 16 in my fathers shops. When I was looking for an inexpensive sports car the Tiburon was my choice for a few reasons. Try to find another V6 with leather, premium sound, and a hellacious warranty for around $20k. This car is the best car I have ever owned for the money. I also drive a 2003 GMC Yukon.

  • No major issues after 7 years - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon

Bought this car originally for the mileage and warranty...and hasnt let me down yet. Nothing major (besides hitting a deer).....replaced normal wear items and battery. Only out of ordinary issue was a bad rear wheel bearing at 75K. Couple of design quirks....the cup holder sucks, tilt steering is funky to operate, the front end look is love/hate. Still averages 35MPG on the highway...only aftermarket parts is a larger throttle body and K&N drop-in filter. The paint does suck....clear coat is gone in spots...but all in all I got more than my $ worth out of this car. Good hauler too....did just fit 50 2x4 studs in the thing, all I had to do was take the headrest off the pass seat lol

  • Alot of fun for the buck!!! - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I think the tiburon is a great buy for the money. It handles GREAT,has good power, and looks really good.I have owned my Tiburon for a little over a year and would buy another one in a heartbeat.I havent had any problems w/ it since I bought it.Horsepower is good (not great)but compared to other cars in its class, check out their price! With a few extras, this car would keep up and you still would have spent less and have a reliable, sporty vehicle.

  • Affordable, Fun, & Smooth - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon

The Tiburon GT, at minimum, is adequate in every area. Its ride is smooth and nimble. The experts claim that the handling is "numb", but I have found it to be the best handling car that I have ever driven.(That includes Acura TL, Acura CL, Honda Civic, Ford Taurus SHO, and Ford Mustang) The brakes are extremely responsive and took some getting use to. The engine is a little weak, considering it is a V6 with 172 HP, but it will give enough pep for realistic driving. I have been extremely pleased with the gas mileage. Critics, and Hyundai themselves have posted 17/23 MPG, while I have been consistently getting 25-27 MPG when driving conservative. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Well first of all its stays in the shop more than I drive it. Has a very bad pull to the right, dealership cant seem to get it fixed. Sunroof has broken, the shocks on the rear hatch have had to be replaced. I really dont think I will be purchasing another on of these.

  • STAY AWAY !!!!! - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I purchased my car brand new from the dealer in aug 2000. Everything was great I loved the car until it was about 4 yrs old. (I still have to this day) since then I have had 3 transmissions replaced, many tail light wires and brackets (they keep blowing all the time sometimes even 15 min after replacing) speed sensor went on it. The check engine light kept coming on after countless times, the dealer couldnt even fix it but my boyfriend actually fixed it in under 10 min. The very next time it was in the shop the dealer ripped my o2 sensor wires out and my car has been horrible since (they still deny they did it too) horrible service from dealer would never buy a Hyundai again stay far away!

  • Hands down best deal for the price! - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

I have owned my SE for almost 5 months and I have had no problems other than I drive it too much. Gas consumption could be better but other than that, this is the new car of the future. Looks like a luxury sports car, has all features come standard. Could use minor improvements but overall a best buy for anyone. People look at me like Im in a Porsche. Go buy one for yourself.

  • Would not buy another - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

Bought this car used with 72,000 miles on it. Totally unreliable! I am always scared to take it on trips because something is always going wrong. Right after I bought it the engine light came on. Spent $2,000 trying to find out what was wrong with it. Clutch went out another 2,000 miles later. $1,200. A/C went out just barley with 79,000 miles. $150. Tires blew out also on my way to catch a flight $900 (expensive tires with NO warranty!) Awful car I do love the outside of it though I am always getting head turned. Dont really care that the back seat is small because no one rides with me. I realize I bought this used but not worth the money Ive put back into it
