Transmission Issues - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

Car is has been fun to drive over the past 1.5 yrs but have had numerous problems with the car.BCM unit needed to be replaced, now transmission. Hyundai warranty will not cover much. Hyundai is refusing to fix my transmission because I upgraded the spark plugs and sparks plug wiring for the 30K service. They are considering the upgrade performance parts therefore voiding my warranty. I will not buy another Hyundai, if you paid me, they pulled the same thing on me when my clutch need replaced on my 03 Elantra after 12k miles.

By SwiftTibby - April 2 - 11:03 amI should have really thought twice when buying my Hyundai. From day one I had problems with the car, it even failed inspection! Im not downsizing Hyundai because they have come a long way, but they kind of failed with this car. The newer models are great but after this car I really wouldnt trust them.

Worst Clutch Ever! - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
By abominablejohn - March 25 - 10:25 pmI bought a 2008 Tiburon SE V6 in May 11 with 13,000 miles in a Hyundai dealership in sunny South Florida. Over the course of 7 months, I put on about 6,000 miles on it mostly highway driving and driving it up to NYC. I am the second owner of the car and with less than 20,000 miles, my clutch has gone. My old Honda Civic was driven over 100,000 miles without ever having a new clutch. Dealership says clutch is not part of the warranty because its a wear & tear item. How can Hyundai build a credible reputation for reliable when so many Tiburon owners are complaining of this defect with the clutch? I will send my complaints to all agencies and websites I can. Shame on you Hyundai!

By steeleuci - March 8 - 2:00 amThis vehicle is great! Not only is it very stylish, but you get more for your money than with other vehicles in the same price tier. I purchased the manual transmission,GT,V6,2-door,fully loaded package and have been completely satisfied. I love this car!

Performace - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
By Konrad - March 7 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is capable of putting out at least around 300 hp mark without the use of t/c or s/c just by boring out the trottle body and the manifold , with titanium piston rings , headers , ignition and ecu upgrade . Also with proper intake and cooling , straight pipe with no restrictions on it this car creates the cometition for the upcoming RX-8 and nissan Z. This is a big step for hyundai in the racing industry . Keep up the work on creating the next "supra" .

Fun To Drive - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
By danhaab - March 2 - 10:00 amThe Hyundai Tiburon is an absolute hoot to drive! I own a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, and the Tiburon is just as fun to drive. The car handles well and has enough power to satisfy. The exterior is the best part. The styling elicits questions from the curious. My only complaints are the over-boosted steering and the spoiler. The handling is so good on this car that it is a shame to have such numbing power steering. Also, while I dont mind the spoiler, I think the car would look cleaner without it.

A fun ride! - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
By JLR - February 11 - 4:00 amIve had this vehicle two weeks and I absolutely love it! Its a sports car without the sports car price. The I4 and 5 speed manual trans gets me going down the road very smartly and gets great gas mileage. I notice that people come up beside me on the freeway to take a double look to see what it is Im driving. Its a real fun ride and Id highly recommend it!!
