  • Ok car, but 3.8 litre looks tempting - 2005 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I have owned this moonlit blue tiburon for 10 months and have no major problems with the vehicle. The 360 wat infinity cd stereo system is great. The engine needs more power and I am considing getting a Mitsubishi Eclipse, after I test drive it, the price is almost the same and the engine sounds to be alot bigger. The only reason I may not buy the Eclipse is that the Tiburon has a little more leg room. I am 6 tall and the leg room is ok. I will have to see how the eclipse feels. The interior of the Tiburon is pleather and is ok and stylish but for the money there is more out there. The Tibby has been reliable and the 160lbs of torque is ok to drive but the 260lbs look more tempting.

  • Good Unless You Get A Lemon - 2007 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Just got it and it has had all the injectors replaced for a second time. When i picked it up this time the check engine light was still on! The dealer even left me without a car for 4 days. But when it runs its a great car it is my second(i had a 2004), the first was a great car

  • Beware!! - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

This car is an owners nightmare. Yes, its fun to drive, but so far, the compressor, engine, and stick shift has blown , all under 30k miles. I have never recieved such horrible service than at ALL of the hyundai dealreships ive been to. All this, and Ive already has a LEMON tiburon before the one Icurrently own. I brought the dealership to court and they gave me another peice of crap in return. Ill never buy a hyundai again. Whats the chance that you get 2 BAD cars of the same make/model from 2 different states? Slim. I doubt its a coincidence.

  • Some Quirky problems - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I loved my Tiburon. Well, aside from a few quirky problems. There are some electrical issues, I have blown many head lights. I also have problems with Oxygen sensors in the exhaust system.I have had to have 4 sensors replaced in the last couple of years. My emergency brake cable broke this year with 61,000 miles on the car. (Its 6 years old)It still looks sharp though. As much as Ive really enjoyed owning this car, the O2 sensor problem is making me consider unloading it now, for fear of another $210 repair bill, now that I am off of warranty.

  • NO RESALE VALUE - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Bought it brand new in 2000, seemed like a good deal. Sporty, but the interior leather is junk and starts to wear right away. Not comfortable if you are tall.Forget trying to trade it in even at the dealership where u bought it. They will just tell you the market is dead and that they will give you 3000 below wholesale. The paint is garbage too it chips if you look at it funny.Never had any mechanical problems but I only had about 15k miles on it when I got rid of it. Under no circumstances should you pay over DEALER INVOICE for this car! And do not buy if you dont plan on keeping it for a long time.

  • Is it just my car that has gone bad? - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

First when i got it, it was great. but as time goes on it began. Had my Sunroof Fixed 4 times in 1 year (same problem occuring over and over again). also my clutch had to be replaced when the car had less than 19000 miles. Believe me I dont drive like maniac. one more thing, almost 2 year into my Tiburon, my car lock system broke, so had to get it repaired. My 2 years of driving Hyundai, I had gone to dearlership for service more than 7 times. I didnt buy the brand new car to get it serviced every 3 month...Other than that it was fun to drive.

  • Drisgruntled Owner - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Had to replace the clutch 3 times already and only have 45k miles on it. Warrenty did not cover the second two after a year or 15 thousand miles because hyundai knows how terrible the clutch is in their vehicle. Their great warrenty covers everything but the clutch after a year. Already a major lawsuit being raised up against hyundai in the United States for the clutch in thousands of owners cars.

  • In need of good customer appreciation!! - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Just because it is affordable doesnt mean the customer is always wrong! I have had a problem with it idling high, especially inbetween shifts, i have heard 3 different stories. I should have seen it when i test drove it, then i was told it was the throttle body which they fixed because the BBB was on their case, and then i was told i wouldnt have seen it when i tested because the computer changes the engine based on your driving. Which is a horrible idea that I have never heard of. Hyundai treated me like an idiot and they wanted no part in helping me. Also my fog light is not water tight and caused it to short out!

  • Fun to drive but costly to own. - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I have owned 4 manual cars in my lifetime and have never had to replace a clutch until now. I have had to replace the clutch on my 2008 Tiburon 2 times already and it has come out of my pocket. Hyundai says the clutch is a normal wear and tear item and is not covered under warranty. My alternator went bad a month ago and hyundai took care of everything. If you buy this car get an Automatic or you will be kicking yourself later. The car is truly fun to drive and the redesigned headlights make it look great.

  • never again - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I bought this car and was fun to drive but as soon as the car hit 60k all the problems started. The cars alignment is perfect but if I let go of the wheel in less than one second its in the ditch dealer says alignment issue even though there is a recall. Now tires need replaced every 10k, intake messed up had to replace that, tranny went out then clutch then clutch master cylinder then clutch slave and now ac is broke. all this in the last 12k miles and all i do is highway driving and gentle driving. I have spend several thousands on this car fixing it and it keeps breaking so just consider this review.
