  • I LOVE MY TIBBY - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I bought mine used with only 7,600 miles on it. I have no complaints with performance as i USE the "slapstick" option if i want more power! I have had no repair issues except that i broke my tib by not seeing a BIG rock in the road :(. I have driven it to Cali 2xs and vegas 2xs. It will do 140+ on straight roads. I have not had the guts to go over the 140 per hour. The driver seat could use some padding in the bottom, get "dead butt" after 4 hrs of driving. I dont have the anti- lock brakes on mine but she will stop on a dime if you use the shift tronic option like a stick!

The car looks much better in person than in the pictures. Everyone loves the car and its design. The standard features are awesome and it is a lot of fun to drive.

We actually just purchased this car for my husband...and I actually love it just as much! It is very cute and very fun to drive. I think that it doesnt make any difference to me about the engine cylinder it has way more power than my elantra. I love hyundai and all their cars are great! =0)

  • STAY AWAY !!!!! - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon

I purchased my car brand new from the dealer in aug 2000. Everything was great I loved the car until it was about 4 yrs old. (I still have to this day) since then I have had 3 transmissions replaced, many tail light wires and brackets (they keep blowing all the time sometimes even 15 min after replacing) speed sensor went on it. The check engine light kept coming on after countless times, the dealer couldnt even fix it but my boyfriend actually fixed it in under 10 min. The very next time it was in the shop the dealer ripped my o2 sensor wires out and my car has been horrible since (they still deny they did it too) horrible service from dealer would never buy a Hyundai again stay far away!

This car caught my attention at the time when they first came out. My was a dark navy blue color which is what caught my attention and the body style. Had it for over 7 years now with less than 60K mileage on it. After about 40k mileage I started to notice that the clutch is performing really bad like its not responding when shifting. So I did a little research and found out that the manufacture had put in a clutch delay thing inside the master cylinder to prevent clutch overheating if you drive aggressively. So I just remove that clutch delay thing and now its responding a little better without that lag.

I bought my Tib brand new and yes the radio went within three months and yes the front wheel barrings keep going(left 2x right 3x), it goes through headlights like no tomorrow, has had 3 alts and those tires phew, can they make some decent tires for this car? And right now my timing belt and water pump just blew at 135,000 (replaced at 90,000). I still love this car. My husband wants me to get rid of it but its perfect. Handles great, good on gas, zip in and out of traffic, I have no trouble in ice and snow or rain. I would buy this car all over again. When the time comes to get another vehcile I will buy another Hyundai.

  • Hands down best deal for the price! - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

I have owned my SE for almost 5 months and I have had no problems other than I drive it too much. Gas consumption could be better but other than that, this is the new car of the future. Looks like a luxury sports car, has all features come standard. Could use minor improvements but overall a best buy for anyone. People look at me like Im in a Porsche. Go buy one for yourself.

  • Would not buy another - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

Bought this car used with 72,000 miles on it. Totally unreliable! I am always scared to take it on trips because something is always going wrong. Right after I bought it the engine light came on. Spent $2,000 trying to find out what was wrong with it. Clutch went out another 2,000 miles later. $1,200. A/C went out just barley with 79,000 miles. $150. Tires blew out also on my way to catch a flight $900 (expensive tires with NO warranty!) Awful car I do love the outside of it though I am always getting head turned. Dont really care that the back seat is small because no one rides with me. I realize I bought this used but not worth the money Ive put back into it

I just broke the 1000 mile mark over the weekend...I have owned this vehicle since Feb. 16. This car is really fun to drive, looks amazing inside and out, and has pretty much every feature you could want in a car. I love the Kenwood head unit. At night the car is beautifully lit up on the inside. I cant wait until my first long trip this summer to see how the highway gas mileage is. The car is a 4 cylinder but to me, its not that noticeable. A side note, this car comes with the "tiptronic steering" where you can somewhat experience driving a manual. I would recommend not using this feature...I have in the past in other vehicles and had to replace the transmission.
