12 years no trouble - then sudden death - 2000 Hyundai Tiburon
By dave072968 - August 18 - 5:01 amI bought my 2000 Tiburon April 2000. It was my first brand new car. All I did was oil changes and gas and go for 12 years and had few problems with it until it died. The car looks fast and is fast enough to pass and get plenty of tickets but will not win any races so dont try. It has been a good car for the most part. The timing belt wore out. Now they tell me its gonna cost at least $4400 to fix it.

Love my tibby - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon
By Skygirl - July 15 - 3:10 amI love this car. I was in the market for a mazda and they wouldnt come down on the price so i went and test drove my tibby and fell in love. To get a car with power windows and locks and all for $18000 u cant beat that. I was looking for something sporty that i could fix up performancewise and make my own and it is really easy to do that with this car.

You get what you pay for! - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
By LovetheTib - July 14 - 9:00 pmI have owned both the Tiburon GS and SE. Though I loved the GS for its fuel economy and affordable pricing, the SE surpasses it by miles. I noticed that the only negative reviews about the Tiburon are from owners of the base trim; all I can say is that you get what you pay for! Though I prefer a good old fashioned American V8, the six speed manual transmission that comes standard on the SE makes the most of the 180 horsepower offered by this V8. This car FLIES and the upgraded suspension and brakes(better than the GT) make this car a blast to drive on the back roads! Not to mention - the SE tops out around 150. Hyundai always has and always will make the most car for the money.

2001 Hyundai Tiburon - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon
By EXtremeRacerS - May 22 - 10:00 amI bought the car for 13,563.19 Brand new in 2001 It has cd leather fully loaded. The car rattles a little but i expected it. I race the car in SCCA SOLOII H Stock the car does well and will do better with mods. The bottom line is this at the time there was no other car that offered its performence for the price. By the way did i mention that the car weighs only 63lbs more than the Integra type r. And with all the races ive attended with 22,000 miles I put on it I still have not replaced the brake pads.

2004 Tiburon V6 2-door coupe-Trouble - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
By ucppsych - April 20 - 2:50 pmI bought this car brand new. Received a lot of compliments. It only has 50,000 miles on it. Prior to this the headlight, lens covers turned a dark yellow. The rubber around all the doors look like its a 3 yr. old car. Ashtray light burned out, check engine light continues to go on and off, side power window wont go up or down, airbag light stays on, rear caliper froze-cost 400.00 to replace. Co2 sensor needed to be replaced..another 400+.The sunroof leaks like a sive into my lap. Coating on the mirrors are peeling off leaving it dull. Cannot repaint because its still peeling. Now its hard to start, then stalls. No one knows why. Loud sound in the front end when you turn the wheel.

2001 Hyundai - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon
By Alanna - March 31 - 3:46 amGreat car to drive around city and fun summer vehicle. Not good for country night driving on dark country roads. I had alot of fun driving in the warm months but do not like how it handles on ice and in snow. This car has great miles per gallon. I bought this car brand new and thought very reliable until this past year. Transmission went out so it was great to have the 100,000 mile warranty.

fun and unique - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
By alexthesock - February 23 - 6:33 pmI purchased my tiburon used only a few months ago but I have wanted one since I first laid eyes on one 5 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised with most aspects of the car. Most notably the 6 speed manual is a lot of fun because of the gear ratios. Clutch is both intuitive and fun (very important to me). The front end lines of the car give you a great idea of where your car is but the back end is a little hard to judge. Labeled as 4 seats but really only two really comfortable seats. Im 6,2" and enjoy the driver seat very much. Mine was purchased with custom sound and exhaust so no comment. Fuel economy could be slightly better. **no car is as unique and low-key at the same time as this car**

Good Value - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon
By egg - February 20 - 10:00 amI bought mine about 4 months ago and cant say that Im disappointed. Yes, it could use more ponies, and some of the interior trim is cheap, but for the money it is an outstanding value. Exceptionally fun to drive, good gas, great service at the dealership. Nothing else in the price class is even close. Warranty outstanding. Get the leather and rims, its worth it.
