Overally I am happy with my purchase, no major issues at all. The sunroofs a bit quirky, but works. This car is a real head turner, I changed the hyundai logos to the ones used in Korea and Australia (Tuscani) and people always now ask if its some special european car. There are not too many on the road so I frequently see people stairing at my car as I am driving, kinda funny being in a Hyundai, not really though of a sporty or exotic. I like the 6spd manual, makes the car really fun to drive but it is a gas guzzler. I think the 28mpg is only if you driver very conserativly. On the highway I say I get ~25mpg depending on how much I push the car.

"Yeah right.. a HYUNDAI.." or at least thats what I thought when I was ready to buy a new car. My Ford died at 84,000 miles so I traded it in for $4,000 looking at the Civic Si, Eclipse, WRX, tC, RSX, and a few others. Loved my stepsisters 06 Sonata so decided to give Hyundai a try. I never thought Id own a Korean car, but this one is perfect. My car had to have auto climate, V6 (or similar) refinement, leather, moon roof, and premium sound. That pretty much knocked everything out but the Tiburon, Eclipse, and RSX. Minor complaints, but no regrets. This was the best car by far. Firm but not harsh, comfortable but not boring, feels like our 06 C280 in terms of driving feel. Love it.

  • 2006 model purchased in 2008! - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

I purchased my 2006 Tiburon in 2008 at 30,000 miles! As an 18 year old this was a dream. For the price I financed, the vehicle depreciated in value rather quickly. I was "upside down" after only 2 years, the amount I owed was more than the car was worth. Thats the thing about Hyundai though! HOWEVER, I drove the heck out of this car daily, I needed new brakes and new battery in 2011 at around 130,000 miles. (This is amazing for the amount of mileage and wear I put on this vehicle) In July 2014 at 154,000 miles, the car began overheating daily and therefore we replaced the radiator. I drove it fine until December 2014 when it randomly overheated one winter day and the following morning would not start. At 160,000 miles the car required a totally new engine. The cost of the engine replacement was more than the car was valued at the time but I sucked it up and replaced it anyway. I vowed to keep up with the oil changes on schedule!! After the new engine, we lived happily ever after until I purchased a 2011 BMW Mini Cooper in May of 2015 (huge difference, I know, but remember I was only 18 when I chose the Tiburon and now I am 25) Im now experiencing major problems with the Mini and Im about to re-tag and insure the faithful loyal old Tiburon again because she has always been there for me! The other quirk to the Tib that I must mention as have others, the thing EATS tires!!!!! I cant even count how many times I have had to buy tires for the car! Its no joke!

  • Fun sport car and great MPG vehicle!! - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

I bought this car back in April with 68,000 miles. . I am the second owner of the vehicle. So far, I am very satisfied with its performance, both in highway and city. It is a very fun to drive and very powerful for its 4 cylinder engine (I drive the 5 speed transmission). When it comes to mpg performance, it varies by fuel brand and driving conditions, like weather altitude, etc. I drive from Chino to Moreno Valley, California on a daily basis, and occasionally to the Los Angeles and San Diego area. Vehicle definitely performs better when driving close to those cities at sea level, and obtains better mpg under those conditions. After seven months, all I can say is that this is a great car!!

Only problems Ive ever had were with the roof bracket. It keeps coming loose and Ive had it fixed now three times... this time I only made it about 7 miles from the dealership and its loose again. Other than that, I love this car!

  • Warranty Stinks!!! - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I really love my Tiburon, its so fun to drive but Ive only had it a year and now the clutch went out and it broke the flywheel. $1700.00 at the dealership!! What I dont understand is why am I being penalized because I own a maual transmission if it was an automatic I would actually reap the benefits of the bumper to bumper warranty! I actually own 2 mine has 57,000 mi. my husbands only has 33,000 his did exactly the same thing. The dealership claims this is a rare problem - bull!!!! Beware if the clutch goes out your in for a big repair bill!!

LOOKs that just will not stop. Just a great little car to drive. BUT the dealers are few and and getting to be less and less. I think its the super warranty that comes with the car. I have found that it could loose a little weight, Driver head room is limited and the V6 gets about 22mpg. If you push hard you can get it for less than MSRP. All in All Id buy another one.

My mom bought this car about 2 months ago in March and she absolutely loves it. I have driven it many times myself. With the GT model like she is it adds a 2.7L 172 horsepower V6 that adds more than enough power and also adds a 460 watt Infinty sound system with a subwoofer that sounds great. I myself have a 04 Chevy s-10 crew cab that i love and I added a premium sound system but it still doesnt sound as good as my moms. I defintly recomend this car.

Way fun to drive. Especially in the hills of KY & my many trips to Central NY. This baby loves the hills & hugs the road. Be prepared for others to try to race you. I have been driving (Im 40) and had young kids try to race me. However, I know now whats up and why as when I bought this car I thought it was cute. Only when I got a flat tire was I told this is a "High Performace" vehicle. Not to mention my cousin how runs a shop asked me why I bought it and like I said to him....I missed driving a coupe and it was just plain fun to drive.

Husky sound from the exhaust! 6 speed, all leather interior, premium sound system, great value!!! If you are thinking of whether you would have buyers remorse after purchasing this car, let me help you!! Just buy it. Great on fuel, great on style. Sun roof gets a 10.
