  • Awesomeness - 2005 Hyundai Tiburon

This is my second Hyundai. My first car was a 1995 Accent and I totaled it in an accident. I wanted another two door and initially went to test drive an eclipse. The dealer wanted me to test drive this car and I fell in love. The ride is so smooth, it handles so well except in rain or snow when driving around curves you have to really slow down or youll hydroplane and swerve a lot. I get a lot of compliments on this car and most people dont believe its a Hyundai. It runs so well. Ive had a few probs like needing a new starter after I rear ended someone, and new transmission wires bc they were loose, but the dealer was great!

  • nice car for the price - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon

Ive had this car since 2006 and have put 24,000 on it so far. Ive replaced the belts and front brake pads; done my own oil changes and had the atf replaced. The automatic tranny has never felt right, it shifts weird but has never broke down. The power is decent and the handling is ok. The brakes are fantastic but to sensitive at times. I locked the left front wheel only in a sudden stop and the car had handling issues after that. Its noisy even with the windows rolled but the sunroof is a great feature. The fuel regulator leaked so I replaced it but the new one started leaking after a year. The stereo is possessed. Cant skip forward on a cd just back, changes from radio to cd on its own.

  • Well it "Looks" really good - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I owned a 94 TransAM, when it came time to lay her to rest i didnt have a lot of money but i didnt want to buy someone elses problems. So i bought a tiburon. It was a very affordable price and the big warranty gave me some piece of mind that it would be reliable...... But now it has 17k miles on it and ive had a new clutch and transmission, ive spent over 5 thousand dollars in repairs from the clutch, 1600 dollars, and then a wreck from the brakes locking on a turn. Overall its a good car but its not made to be driven like a sports car without some major mods.

  • Clutch problems - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon

I bought a Tib 2003 on Nov 30th 2002, (sunroof, abs, v6, 5 speed, 18250 on the road) I have the hell of the time with the car, until I started to have problems with the clutch after only 8000 miles. I took it three times to dealer to get it fix, finally they replaced the whole part, but it was too late for me. I trade it on Dec 2003.

  • Smooth ride for smooth roads - 2005 Hyundai Tiburon

I really loved this car when I purchased it in Fl. It had a great exterior and the sound system really pumped! I never had mechanical trouble or any trouble for that matter until I came to DC. The numerous pot-holes took a SERIOUS toll on the high performance tires. In the course of 2 years I blew 4 tires, and replaced more then 10. It was fun to drive but only on smooth streets, you can feel EVERY SINGLE NOOK&CRANNY in the street! Buyer beware if you live somewhere with jacked up roads!

  • Awesome car for price - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I paid only $6700 for the car and was well worth it. The 6spd is awesome! Although they should have forgone the metering valve (I took it out) used with the transmission to make it "slip" so that it can be a "friendly" vehicle for everyone to drive along with less slop in the shifter linkage. Should have beefed up the suspension a little bit also to get the tires to stick to the road better and make for a more aggressive feel. Lighter wheels would help too (17" stock are 18 lbs!). With a little bit of money and time it can be built a little to change these "problems". I do love the car though. Very fun to drive and turns heads all the time. Decently powerful v6 and not bad gas mileage for v6

  • Cool Ride - 2007 Hyundai Tiburon

I owned this car for 1 year now, and has no problem with it. Still perform great, I have no problem with the performance of the car, as I can easily overtake any audis, bmws or benzies on the highway. Its true that the tiburon is not as powerful as some other high performance sport cars, but speed defend on both the driver and the car not just the car alone. The tib can easily do 180 km/h, but then again only pro race car drivers would drive any faster... Simply put, the tiburon is best of class in term of price per features. If you crave that extra power then you can easily add a supercharger on your tiby for only a few grands.

Dont know about these critics of the SE version. I have over 30000 miles on mine and have had zero problems with it and Im a very spirited driver. The six speed tranny is precision so maybe thats the problem some are having. They dont know how to drive it. All Ive ever owned are manual shift sports cars. Even had a Camaro and the Tiburon SE is faster to 60 and has a faster top speed (145 with no mods at redline). Not too bad when there is over a litre of difference in the engine size. Not much more to ask for. And to those knocking the performance compared to other V6 cars, I can keep up with a Mustang GT with no problem. Just got to know when to shift, and how to drive!!!

  • HOT! - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I owned an 84 Camaro and as I was sitting in the shop, I saw a magazine and was reading it and they had an article about the new Tiburon and I saw it and decided that I had to get it. I went to the dealership didnt test drive it, didnt argue over the price and got it. Its been a lot of fun it. I just had a cold air intake and cat back exhaust added to it and this thing really picks up. I was able to beat a turboed Eclipse with it. By the way, I am 56" so I fit in it nice and snug. I had a friend drive it and he said it "drove like a dream." This car is purely amazing and a heck of a lot of fun to drive.

  • Underestimated at the Lights - 2005 Hyundai Tiburon

Why pay 7 or 8 grand more for less was the conclusion I came to 3 years ago when I purchased my new Tiburon. At the time I was also considering the Celica and RSX which were more pricey and were base models. My Hyundai is fully loaded and unlike the others, has leather, power sunroof, full power group, nice rims, dual exhaust and quite simply is very easy on the eyes. Since then, my gf has bought a new RSX Premium(9000 more) and I still say, my Tiburon is better. I have had zero problems and even if I did, Hyundais warranty is amazing anyways. I drive it hard and it produces great performance and handling that is out of the league of other cars in its price range. Great car!!!
