  • Great Car - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

Bought the 2003 Tib GT as my first new car at age 35! Have loved it. Clutch replaced during week 1 of ownership - no problem since. A few minor hiccups - parking brake sticks, stuff like that. I am astonished by the level of service I have received from Hyundai!!! Never have I left feeling like I got screwed. Looking at another Hyundai now. Satisfied Hyundai owner!!!

This is one very solidly built vehicle. You can feel it in the doors, hatchback and hood. It handles very well for a car this heavy. There is pronounced torque steer when turning under a heavy throttle, but if you know its going to happen its very easy to correct for. Good power and torque. Very fun to drive. The six speed manual is definately the way to go. Huge track bars front and rear allow aggressive cornering without body roll. Quality Kenwood sound system driving six speakers. Radio quality hampered a bit by the in glass antennae. Overall, one great sporty coupe!

  • Perfect Car for 16-Yr-Old Sons 1st Car - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Purchased it for 16-year-old sons birthday (1st car-Dec.7 05) and we love it. We did not get the V6 because I dont want something that would be too much of a hot rod for a young driver. We find that it has PLENTY of pep for take off and city driving, as well as highway. Ive read reviews that say its underpowered, but we beg to differ. Perhaps compared to a turbo or sports car with a larger engine, but I drive a Jetta turbo and I still find this car to be outstanding. Its solid, beautiful and has the best warranty you can find anywhere. In fact, weve already decided to buy another one next year, so we will be repeat buyers when the 07 comes out.

  • Bad Tires - 2007 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I bought the Tiburon new. I started having trouble with the tires right away. Had to air them up within first month, and every 6-8 weeks after that. Took it back to the dealer four times. They said no apparent leak, maybe a problem with the seal. So added nitrogen. 8 weeks later, a tire low again. Deal will not replace tire. Hyundai customer service says Hyundai is not responsible for defective tires, the tire manufacturer is. I purchased road hazard and extended warranty. Neither will cover defective tires. I dont feel safe driving the car.

Overall i like the car. I like the bubble look on the outside. The headlights need replaced all the time, the battery had to be replaced at 30k, and the transmission had to be replaced at 55k.

I was looking at the 2001 Tiburons then my fiance found the 2003 and I had to have it. Test drove the 6 speed and fell in love.... my other car is a 99 solara and this beats it hands down for fun driving. I think I have the only one in my area right now.

  • Great car for a young person - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I got my 03 GT in 2008 with 76k on it. The dealer I got it from said they fixed an AC line and needed tires to meet MD inspection. I drove the car like I stole it everyday and it never let me down! I sold it in 2012 with 156k on the clock. When I owned it all I replaced was a wheel bearing, the clutch and radiator. Other than that it was just the normal oil, tires, breaks. The car was very fun to drive made ok power and was pertly good looking for a hyundi. NOTE its a small car backs seats do not fit anyone over 55. I had a chevy before this car and that thing was a money pit very happy I owned the Tiburon when I did. Great car!
