Honda has made a number of enhancements to the 2004 Honda S2000. Most importantly, a larger 2.2-liter engine has been fitted. This, along with revised transmission gearing, is meant to improve power delivery. Other changes include updated suspension tuning, 17-inch wheels (16s were the previous standard), upgraded brakes, larger tailpipes and restyled front and rear bumpers with new headlights and taillights. Inside, there's a new center console (with two cupholders and a storage tray) and a bit more shoulder, elbow and hiproom for the driver and passenger. All Honda cars have a new seatbelt reminder system this year.

• Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop, high level of performance for the price.

• Still not much low-end torque, no passenger airbag cut-off switch.

  This is a street-legal pure-bred race car. It has no negative features. Period. The engine is superb, perhaps the best 4 cylinder engine ever produced. The chassis is incredibly stiff. Handling and road manners are those that one would associate with sports cars that cost 3 or 4 times more. The car is not for everybody: if you do not enjoy shifting constantly and revving the engine this car is not for you (or rather, you are not in this cars league).

  Not a practical car for everyday driving. This is a car you buy for the "fun" factor not practicallity.

  From one who has owned this car for almost three years now, one word suffices: Whee!! I cant think of a better buy. For those with complaints about rattles, the fixes are simple: For the passenger seatbelt rattle, twist the metal part of the seatbelt around the strap so that it lies flat against the passenger seat. For the rattle the clips for the convertible top make, pull the control for the top toward you after you put the top up for the night. That locks the clips in place. They no longer rattle. If the glove compartment rattles, line it with something soft and black. The dealership did that for me for free. It looks great and there is no more rattle.

  I HAVE OWNED MY CAR FOR ALMOST A YEAR IT IS A AWESOME CAR. NOT MADE FOR TALL PEOPLE. I WILL BE 40 IN MARCH 2004 I HAVE TO SAY ME AND MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER HAVE HAD SO MUCH FUN IN MY CAR AND WE CANT WAIT FOR THE WEATHER TO BE NICE SO WE CAN HAVE SOME MORE FUN

  Fell in love when I saw it in the showroom, love has not stopped, its an attention getter, performs like a regular car when you want and its like a bat coming out of hell when you want it to be one. Truly a great car. My seat where stolen once, desirable item I guess.

  Ive had this car for only two months and its been nothing but fun. Few people know what it is, and the styling gets a lot of comments. With its low production, it stays under the radar. Great acceleration and handling, with every control within reach. Top goes down in five seconds with ease. Its no wonder that it has the highest residual value after three years.
