Honda has made a number of enhancements to the 2004 Honda S2000. Most importantly, a larger 2.2-liter engine has been fitted. This, along with revised transmission gearing, is meant to improve power delivery. Other changes include updated suspension tuning, 17-inch wheels (16s were the previous standard), upgraded brakes, larger tailpipes and restyled front and rear bumpers with new headlights and taillights. Inside, there's a new center console (with two cupholders and a storage tray) and a bit more shoulder, elbow and hiproom for the driver and passenger. All Honda cars have a new seatbelt reminder system this year.

• Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop, high level of performance for the price.

• Still not much low-end torque, no passenger airbag cut-off switch.

  What a great car. Like a motorcycle with four wheels. I have had zero problems. Handles like its on rails. Full size golf bag fits in trunk, just dont try two!

  Fun to drive, but way too small. The top does not impresses as much as the Z top. A good car.

  At 60-years young Ive been a car nut most of my adult life. I have to admit the S2 is the most fun machine Ive driven. Value?... you would have to pay thousands more to get a roadster with the handling, performance, & styling of the S2. Id like to know the process or the nut who figured the S2 @ 20 mpg! Im on my 2nd S2 the very worst Ive gotten, driving hard in the mountains, was 22 mpg, Ill average 24 mpg on the highway 27 mpg.

  I had wanted this car since it came on the market. The sound of the exhaust, its strong, sporty appearance. All of its lure comes to life once you are behind the wheel. Im a 1970s TR6 owner, so in being a sports car purest, the S2000 is marvelous fun. The cars handling is perfection and makes you hunt out winding roads for afternoon drives not to mention how much fun just driving to work can be. I enjoy every second behind the wheel. If you want an exciting ride, this is it!

  I like my Honda S2004, but it almost has more power than I feel I can handle. The back end always feels like it is a split second from breaking loose. Maybe because I spun it around on some frost covered roads right after I bought it. Now it sits in the garage all winter.

  Not a practical car for everyday driving. This is a car you buy for the "fun" factor not practicallity.

  Quick, fun to drive, never had a mechanical problem. More “nice car” comments from other people than I have had for any car I have ever owned.

  It is the funnest car I have ever owned. I feel safe when driving on the freeway or on county roads. And I certainly get noticed alot..

  I had to replace my 1998 M3 coupe and agonized for months for anything else with such near perfect combination of sharp handling, power and decent fuel economy. There were many worthy considerations including the g35 coupe (too heavy), the Mazda Rx-8 (too soft), and even the Mini Cooper S (too cute). But just one test drive in the S2000 snapping through the gears and carving up corners with surgical precision and the choice was easy.
