  • Disappointing - 2001 Honda Passport

I had resisted buying an SUV, but the Subaru dealer I went to for an Outback was so obnoxious, I went to Honda. They were clearing out the 2001s and I got a great price. The dealer however, did not tell me that I was not getting a Honda, but an Izuzu - with Honda badges. I have hated this SUV since the first long distance (250 miles) trip. Its uncomfortable, noisy and thirsty. Also, every time we drive on an expressway for more than 30 miles or so, when we stop the thing sounds liek a diesel - but the dealer has "never heard of a problem like that" and "cant find anything wrong". To be honest, I dont know why we still own it.

well whats to say its a great suv althought it is bult by IZUSU with there 3.2 V6 which has plenty of power but its never had any problems i took it on a 8.952 mile trip and it peformed great and the 4X4 worked great in las vegas when it snowed but when i left on the trip it had 25,000 miles and that was just befor x-mas in and now like 6 months later its at 44,000 miles and still no problems

  • Not a true Honda - 2000 Honda Passport

This is an Isuzu, not a true Honda. Although an above-average, solid SUV, the quality is not quite up to the usual Honda standards. The ride is very truck-like and rough, cornering unstable, fuel economy is just ok (Ive averaged 18 mpg). All said, its been an all-right vehicle. Im looking to trade it in for a CR-V, which is what I should have gotten in the first place.

I bought my Passport from a small dealer in colorado after seeing it on the internet. My buying experience wasnt that great, but I am very happy with the car. I have purchased it with 111,000 miles on it, and it is still going strong with a little help from a new air intake. The car is fun to drive and has great offroad ability. I have had very few problems with it, things that the dealer should have fixed before I bought it, wich were taken care of. I have driven it for over two years on the highway, and off road, and I have had no complaints at all about the ride and cabin noise from any passengers I have ever had. In all I would buy it all over again.

Ive had my Passport for 3 and a half years (bought it used) and I love it. My husband was reticent to buy it because the ratings were average on reliability, but we have had NO major problems with this car (only a bad motor on the drivers side window). It is very roomy and has a good cargo area. It handles well, too. The only problems are comfort-related. The blind spots are bad, and the cup holder is too far back (behind the emergency brake) if youre short like me and have to sit with the seat pulled up pretty close. Other than that, its great.

  • Passport to FUN! - 1995 Honda Passport

Just bought this fun car, really cant give you solid personal experience. Running it hard for the weeks Ive had it, and it runs great. Handles very well for an offroad/street vehicle. The turning radius is better than my Volvos. Getting 18mpg, running 17mi, one way to work, through many stoplights, approx. 30mph traffic, with one 2-3mi stretch of 50mph. Im a happy camper... so far. Yeah, the interior is super basic, but I was looking for an upgrade to a Jeep, for fun in the woods, and reasonable compfort. I got just that. It has 130K mi, solid as a rock, looks sharp, fast, better than most fuel economy. My pdate in a year.

  • Please Rethink - 1999 Honda Passport

Just wanted to save some people the heartache of owning one of these. I bought the extended warranty on this vehicle and have gotten my money back and then some. Major problems: Transmission is sealed and very expensive to have serviced, shocks blown at 50k miles, leaks at door seals, ignition coils went out at 70k miles.

  • First SUV, Long time Honda Fan - 2002 Honda Passport

Just recently purchased this Vehicle. The exterior/ interior looks great. The ride is smooth, handles well. I have owned several Hondas and loved them. I wanted a mid size SUV and CRV EX 4AWD seemed like the right choice.

Handles well and is fairly comfortable for a long drive. Only mechanical problem was having to replace the intake manifold gasket twice.
