  • I love this car - 2008 Honda Accord

I love my Honda. This is my first Honda and I must say I am very impressed. I only drive it on the weekends so I have no gripes over fuel economy. It feels great to get into my Honda after driving my 01 Pontiac Sunfire. It handles well and it is smooth sailing. The heated seats for me and my passenger are a plus for the cold weather.

  • Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord

First let me say that I am a lifelong Honda fan. Ive owned 6 cars and a motorcycle by Honda from 1978 to 2008. However, Honda really dropped the ball on the 8th generation Accord, at least the 2008 V6 EX-L that I owned. I bought it used 3 three years old with only 14700 miles on it. But after the first week I noticed that the drivers seat was unacceptably uncomfortable and had to use a butt pad as for the entire 5 1/2 years that I owned it. Also, they really cheaped out on the interior materials. The center armrest and outside arm rests were made of the thinnest vinyl I have ever seen and would shred if you looked at it funny. I had to replace the center rest before I sold it in mid 2017 but left the ripped drivers side as it was. Interior materials were much cheaper than our 2005 EX-L 4 cyl which is still going strong and has not signs of wear inside. Additionally, I had serious mechanical problems that I should not have had on ANY car let alone an Accord. Transmission had to be rebuilt at 55000 mi. Steering rack had to be replaced at 85000 mi. The one thing my car excelled at was brake wear. I didnt have to do the brakes until 90000 miles(!) and then only the fronts. The rears had plenty of meat left on pads and rotors. I have seen others complain about their brakes so go figure. Im not completely soured on Honda and would not hesitate buying another one down the line but this particular specimen was something of a lemon. Fortunately, I was able to get a fair price for the car and I replaced it with a near-pristine 2006 Infiniti M35 with approximately the same milage. Needless to say, it is a vastly superior car in every conceivable way AND I got it for less than I sold the Accord for. Accords hold their value pretty well, Infinitis dont so good for me.

  • You Cant Go Wrong - 2008 Honda Accord

Have had my Accord for 3 months. Was going to buy new Explorer but gas prices changed my mind. Once I test drove this car I was hooked. For a 4 cylinder car I am surprised at the comfortable and peppy drive. Recently went to Cape Cod and averaged 34mpg. Overall, Ive been averaging about 25 mpg. For the money, I do not think you can find a better value. The nav system is great. Also test drove the Altima. It was a tough decision, but the Accord is a better looking car and slightly bigger.

  • Just got it and think I made a mistake - 2008 Honda Accord

Just purchased the sedan with the navigation and V6. Power is wonderful, the seats hurt after only 200 miles of driving. Maybe I will get used to them. Overall interior size of car is wonderful but the trunk is a little small in relation to the car. Beware - you can feel the engine move from 3 cylinders, to 4 then 6. Test drive to make sure you can live with this First impressions are overall good. But at $30k, I could have purchased a much more involved car (Audi, BMW,), this rides like a Buick.

  • Seventh Honda Accord - 2008 Honda Accord

This is my seventh Accord. The new body styling is a big plus and the interior has the look of a more expensive vehicle. All things considered Honda gives you the best value for the price. Many standard features are options on the Altima and Camery. Not sold on the VCM.

  • Wow...what a car - 2008 Honda Accord

Just picked up from the dealer 12/1, 0/08. Waited 8 weeks for this car, there are not that many out there,Hundas assembly is more focused on the sedan. Pulled out of the lot and this car just flys! Handles like a dream, hugs corners like a indy car. The roads were slick with many ice patches but this car felt like I was driving in May with the temp at 78 degrees. I have never felt so completely in control of a car. (This may because the 20yrs of SUVs I have been driving), none the less I love this car....buy one!

Traded in a gas guzzling, and mechanically challenged Dodge Nitro! (had to get that off my chest) Got my Accord first week of May, never liked the old generation Accords, but this 2008 model is a welcome site. First things first: Quality: I love the way the Accord feels mechanically, and fit and finish is top grade. Performance: 190 hp 2.4 L engine has plenty of pep on highways. I havent calculated yet, but seems to do well on very well on gas, and the steering is nice & tight! Chrysler, needs to hire Hondas engineer!(my opinion) Transmission is smooth, and I love that. Its a fun car to operate.

  • 2008 Honda Accord EXL V6 4Dr - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased my 4dr EXL V6 2 weeks ago. Have put approx 175 highway miles on it. VCM/Tranny on highway are very noticable to the point it is annoying. The VCM/Tranny switching back and forth make you wonder what the car is doing all the time. Seats are stiff but once adjusted seem to become more comfortable. Suspension/driving are better than past Accords and engine has plenty of power. Overall an improvement over older Accords but VCM/Tranny issues have me concerned about the longetivity of this car.

  • Headlight performance - 2008 Honda Accord

Bought this car when they first came out. After a couple of months noticed the headlights flickering. Honda WILL NOT fix this car so it is now going to arbritration. This car is a disaster... road noise is horrible, stereo sucks, terrible gas mileage etc. Do not buy this car.

  • High cost of Ownership - 2008 Honda Accord

2nd set of brakes at 50,000 miles. NEVER ever had this problem with any car I owned, let alone Accords. No change in driving habits. At $700+ a brake job, it adds up. Miss my 2004 Accord. Sold with 200,000 miles 1.5 years ago and I still see it around town. At year end, Ill look at the Lexus.
