  • Awesome Ride - 2008 Honda Accord

Not looking to purchase a Honda I came across the Accord Coupe and I had to have it. The looks, ride, and quality are second to none. I highly recommend the Accord Coupe to anyone looking to buy a new car considering fuel economy.

  • Could do better - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I have owned several Accords, the most recent one being a 2005 EX V6. We never had any problems with that car. I wish I had never traded. This new car has many neat features, such as the NAV and the variable cylinder management, but the build quality has me regretting my purchase. There are many rattles and squeaks,(the front end even rattles when you shut the door). But, the most annoying problem is a wind noise above 55mph. I get mad thinking about it and avoid driving it for that reason. Should have bought a Cadillac CTS.

  • Dont buy a 2008 Honda - 2008 Honda Accord

Have you ever bought a car just because of the name? Well I did and it was the biggest mistake. I am trying to find a dealership that will take it back. For over 25,000 I expected perfection. The sound of the road is so loud that I can barely hear anyone on the phone. The air doesnt blow as cool when I press the gas. I have to open the door wide just to get out of it without hitting side and I am only 115 lbs. The blind spots are out of this world. I am beyond displeased with Honda. Yes, maybe past models were better, but they have truly ruined their brand in my opinion with this car. Yes, it looks great, but that is about it. I should have stayed in my Altima! Take my word...dont buy!!

  • Accord sedan 2008LX 4cyl- Beware oil burner - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

So we bought this from Sunnyside Honda in Middleburg Heights OH in 2010, it was a 2008 LX that was a rental/fleet vehicle. We were weary but purchased based on excellent condition and good value for what we paid. Car had 43,000 miles on it and was 2 years old. We drove the car to 136,000 before we got rid of it a few weeks ago. Based on other Hondas we have had this one was the MOST problematic one we have had. Not sure where to start. 1st of all the brakes were a problem from day 1. rear brakes were a reall for some "spring set" that caused them to wear out too fast. Only the dealer could fix and they did. The rear deck would rattle horribly...the car would shimmy going down the highway even with new brakes/rotors ect. also tried replacing the tires that didnt work either. The car overall was slow for 180hp. You would floor it and the car wouldnt go anywhere. SLOWWW, felt like a misfire cylinder. The #1 worst problem of this car was that it burned oil like crazy (More in the winter than summer) I would put a quart in every 750 miles...yes thats right 750 miles!!! Thats almost 4 quarts every 5,000 mi. Honda would cover up saying it was normal blah blah blah. I knew the newer 2013 and up hondas didnt have this problem so I figured we would keep driving it for awhile. So one day I went out to check the oil on a cold winters day and there was no oil at all in the engine. It was completely burned up. After this we quickly traded it in and got a 2016 Accord that does not have this issue at all. We are happy with our new accord and DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone invest in the 2008-2010 models. Its a total lemon and a mistake on Hondas part. I see used ones popping up everywhere now. Granted the car never broke down on us or left us stranded, im sure the next owner wont be so lucky given its 10 years old now, and has been run with no oil in the engine. Only a matter of time before that engine blows. Also dealer said struts were leaking, some camshaft was bad in the engine, and there was a leak on the "head block" We got away lucky with virtually no repairs on this, but knew it was time. Oh also the steering box had to be completely replaced under warranty at 48k right after we purchased but we didnt pay as it was warranty work. By the time we got rid of the car it seemed like on hot days it was acting up again, so we were afraid it would need to be replaced again (and it costs almost 3,000 to replace the rack and pinion steering) So near the end we afraid to drive it. I also have a 2007 Honda Accord 4cyl EX-L and it had none of these type of issues so we decided to keep that and trade the 08 as that seemed to be a problematic year for the accords. THIS CAR BURNS AN INSANE AMOUNT OF OIL AND THE DEALERSHIPS COVER IT UP!!!! I hear the V6s are the same way, oil burners. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Not worth risking the engine blowing, and if you dont check the oil every 2-3 weeks, the engine will blow. Im very loyal to Hondas, but feel like this was a total flaw year of the accord. I really like the new 2016s. its a difference like night and day vs. the 08.

  • Excessive Road Noise - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This car is not at all fun to drive because of road noise and engine noise. I wonder why Honda overlooked this. If you are planning to buy this car and are concerned about engine and road noise think twice and do the road test carefully. Road noise is really irritating and annoying.

  • Beware Dimming Headlights - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

After having the car for 1 week I drove fro an extended period at night. The headlights and taillights flicker every 30 or so seconds when the A/C kicks in at all speeds. Not only is this very annoying but also dangerous due possible road rage from drivers thinking you are flashing them or from a trucker passing you thinking that its clear by the flicker from the headlights not to mention problems associated with the taillights flickering. Called Dealership and while they are helpful Honda says that this is normal even though they are working on a fix. Honda has been aware of this and still no fix they say its "normal" because all the 4cyl do this.

  • You say its NOT German? - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

After having driven Mercedes and Audis for the past couple decades, we bought an 08 Accord, and Im here to tell you that this car drives more like a German road car than some German road cars! Ride is very good, but seats are just a little firm. A power passengers seat would be a nice addition. Its larger overall this year, so size-wise compares with an E- Class Mercedes, 5-series BMW, or A6 Audi. Price-wise its HALF the money, with historically outstanding value- retention. Fit & finish are excellent. EPA says 31 mpg highway, and theyre right. Consistent 31 mpg hwy, and up to 34.4 mpg on our last trip.

  • Great bang for the buck! - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Test drove the Altima and the Accord the same day. There was no contest. The Accord won hands down in the first 2 minutes of the drive. Im 60" and had plenty of room in all seating areas. Liked the arrangement of instrumentation on the dash. Exterior looks much more expensive than what you pay for. Engine has a gracious amount of power for a 4 cyl. Its not a 6 cyl so dont compare it to one. Interior noise is very minimal. The overall handling is very impressive. You definitely cant go wrong with this car. As always, another great piece of work from Honda. I couldnt be happier if Id spent twice the amount of money.

  • My fourth car, and my first Honda - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive owned three vehicles prior to my 08 Accord. My first love was a Malibu, my second was Olds Alero and finally my Isuzu Ascender. I enjoyed every vehicle but, I had problems with all of the in the first year. I have to say that my Honda by far has been the most reliable. Its quiet, get good gas mileage and looks clean inside and out. I love the new body style and the interior is a simple pleasure except for the center dash. Overall I have had minimal issues and the car performs like a champ. I believe its in the top four cars for the price range. I dont think I could have made a wiser choice in a vehicle for a single guy or family vehicle for that matter. Best vehicle for the price!

  • Major Disappointment - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This is my third Accord and will be the last. The car is big and ponderous. It does not track straight. Constantly steering corrections to the right or left to keep the car go straight. The drivers seat is very uncomfortable. The head rest tills forward which pushes the drivers head forward at a very uncomfortable position. The seat is too deep that the edge cuts into the drivers calves. The arm rest on the door is too far away to rest your arm. Build quality is lacking. The car is under powered.
