  • Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

At 30,000 miles, heard the brake wear indicator and had to replace the rears. The fronts have several thousand more miles left. The VCM is terrible. The transmission hunts even in cruise control and is jerky and slips often. A danger when you are in heavy traffic. Dealer finds nothing wrong and that Hondas do not have smoothest trans. Both front windows rattle, the road noise is quite noticeable, and rain rolls off the top and right on to the controls. I dont see why people rave about Hondas.

  • Rear Brake Problem Disappointing - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had this Accord since new, and have enjoyed the car very much. However, today at 20k mile service I learned the rear brakes already need replacing. After reading many similar complaints on the web, this is obviously a factory defect as rear brakes shouldnt wear out before the front, and especially not at 20k miles. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing. I bought Honda for quality, and learning this is a known issue for so long without any recall to correct is disappointing as well. Continued loyalty to brand has ended.

  • The car has been okay so far. - 2008 Honda Accord

Everything seems to work fine so far with about 21,000 miles. Except the automatic window button is broken very easily and now just need replacement of the broken hinge that holds the plastic button. Also, the brake squeals at times which has become more frequent and annoying since last week. I am not recommending friends to buy this sedan after I have learned that more newer models will be able to match and outperform this Honda. For example, Sonata will out mpg this Honda. Mazda6 will out corner and out accelerate this Honda. I wish I knew more about mid- size (or more correctly full-size) sedans before buying this Honda. However, so far it is okay.

  • Rather have a quiet BMW 328i - 2008 Honda Accord

Last Honda I will buy unless they start to provide insulation. freeway road noise is so bad that you cant hear the satellite radio. Honda increased the size and scrapped all the insulation to save on costs. Worried about all the comments about brakes. Remote unreliable. Power steering motor constantly whines loudly and has been replace 3 times. it works but contributes to the overall unacceptable cabin noise.

  • Watch your brakes/gas mileage - 2008 Honda Accord

Loved the new styling, reliability, and features in my Accord. Opted for the 4 cyl (190 horses) for the gas mileage vs. the V6. Considered the Camry (plain Jane interior)and the Maxima (a little expensive). After driving it for 2 years, I notice a whole bunch of these cars on the road.

  • Brake Nightmare - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

My first Honda. Not a great experience so far. While I will say I love the comfort of this car its reliability issues out weight its curb appeal. I have changed the rear brakes twice within the last year. The passenger door build also has had to be repaired twice due to a faulty locking mechanism. I just recently had to get the a/c condenser replaced on an 08 w/ 40k mi. Hondas a/c condensers are notorious for sub par reliability. This car is great for comfortable everyday driving by no means is it any type of performance vehicle.

  • Not a bad car - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This car is just ok. Im not crazy about the ride. Car handles ok, but the road noise is bad. Had to replace rear brakes at 28k. The seats arent that comfortable. The doors feel really light and cheap. Awful in snow. No other problems besides the brakes. Good on gas for a six cylinder. Transmission shifts are jerky for an automatic trans.

  • Brakes--be careful - 2008 Honda Accord

Great car except the rear brakes. The front brakes last 3 to 4 times longer than the rear. That never happens, the front disc always wear out first. Honda design flaw and the wont admit they have a problem.

  • 2008 Accord Rear Brake Issues - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Have enjoyed driving the vehicle until recent quality issue with rear brake pads. At just 15,000 miles, the rear brake pads need replacing. Honda America claims that this is normal for Honda as the Accord has a unique design that shifts the weight of the vehicle to the rear when braking. Thus, 80 - 90% of the braking is done using the rear brakes. Amazing. Has Honda defied the laws of physics?

  • All Kinds of Problems - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

This is the first Honda I have purchased on my own. My entire family owns Hondas but this will be my final Honda due to so many problems. Brakes replaced under 20000k miles rotors turned and replaced under 20000 miles and rear dash replaced. 3 out of 4 door actuators replaced. Heated mirror took 6 trips to fix after they told me I didnt have heated mirrors and I had to prove it. Brakes still squeak a lot and Honda Customer service will not do anything about it. They just say they have not had any recalls when they clearly have issues with the brakes. My parents have a pilot just had their 60k mile service replaced brakes first time and still have not turned rotors. Accord is awful.
