  • Honda just as expected, when I purchased. - 2008 Honda Accord

I have been buying hondas since the early 90s. 2008 Honda Accord EX-L Navigation, Bluetooth, leather fully loaded... Dont hestitate to buy this vehicle. If your a perfectionist then no vehicle is going to suit you needs, unless you get into big bucks. This is an economical and reliable vehicle. This was my primary concern of buying this car.. It is fun to drive and it is nice and tight from the steering down to the suspension. As always, Hondas reliablity..... Buy an american car and constantly worrying about check engine light, left rear window not working, sunroof stuck open, noise coming from left side rear of the car that just will not go away, and i could go on.

I purchased this car 8 months ago with 40K miles and it is great car. I have driven Accord 03, 06, and this one is 08 - all are good to perfect. I am not sure why some people are giving bad reviews. The last generation Accords use the same moving parts (engine (4 cylinders), transmission, etc.) as in 05, 06, 07. By doing by extensive research many people, that posted reviews here, have some interest in Detroit automakers (Ford, GM). Union may be? That is why the are bashing Honda here to make people to, at least, look at Ford Fusion or Malibu. No question, those cars are great inside BUT drive them for +60K and you will see the difference between Accord ad them. Enough said...

Two and a half years into ownership and still no problems. I have not had any of the maligned brake issues. I averaged ~ 27 MPG, mostly highway. Seats could go back a little farther (Im 63") and are a little uncomfortable. V6 performance is not the best, but not bad. VCM is not noticeable. Rear seat headroom is terrific. Visibility is great. The EX-Ls stock rims are strange, but not ugly. Auto-tinting rear view mirror is great. Radio and climate controls are not as cluttered as theyre made out to be. Have noticed that windshield fluid sprayers tend to freeze in winter (Cleveland winters). The car isnt perfect (what car is?), but with no repairs to speak of how can I complain?

This is my third Accord and so far my favorite. So far the only issue with my brakes has to due with front brake rotors that transmit a shimmy to the steering wheel when moderately braking, and need resurfacing. Road noise is a bit excessive, which is a common theme in these reviews. I have not had any problems resulting from build quality, but have noticed that Honda is not using the same quality of materials or paid as much attention to detail as in years past. The only shop time has been oil changes/tire rotations. It is fun to drive and really has a sporty feel for a 4-door sedan. The four-cylinder is powerful for a what it is but its not a rocket. The Accord is still a good buy.

I just turned 25000 miles and had my car inspected. So far, brakes are fine as I had the dealer inspect them. The car has given me all that I wanted and if the rear brake problem does not rear its ugly head, I will be delighted with this vehicle. This cars handles very well and is extremely comfortable on long trips. Performance is good and highway gas mileage is around 32 mpg and 24 mpg city. No problems at all as yet, so to date, I am very satisfied. The road noise is higher than I would like, but it is strictly tire noise. Road surfaces affect the degree of noise there is. No wind or outside noises, only tire noise on particular surfaces, so I feel this issue has been overstated.

Not a single problem after 2.5 yr, 30K miles. Accord a great balance of handling/ride-quality and power/fuel- economy.

  • Great Car So Far - 2008 Honda Accord

We bought the EX-L Coupe in May 2008, our first Honda. We purchased this car for its sporty looks and Hondas reputation for quality and I must say so far we havent been disappointed. At nearly 34K miles in less than two years we have not had the car to the dealer for anything, period. So far weve had no issues whatsoever including not having had any issues with the rear brakes that a lot of folks have had. Read somewhere that is as much an issue with the front/rear braking ratio, if you have that issue get that checked. 25 mpg general use, 31 mpg highway on long trips. Im fairly tall at 63" and I have plenty of leg room, no room or comfort issues at all.

Well, I just went over the two year mark in terms of ownership and all that I can say is that I am still a satisfied Honda owner. I have over 42,000 miles on the car (mostly highway) and have had no major repairs. I have heard a lot of talk about the brake issue and at my last oil change the first inklings that it will bite were felt. It is not really the best car in the snow (Ohio) with the wide tires. It handles amazingly in all other conditions, however. The V6 is not the peppiest out there, but it aint bad. It is very roomy, to the point that I think it might be a little too big for my liking. Gas mileage is great. In the summer I average around 27 mpg, mostly highway.

Driving my Accord v6 for almost two years I can tell you what powerful and very comfortable is this car. I really like the interior, looks like a luxury car to me.
