  • Buyers, Beware of the Stereo. - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

After taking delivery of EX-L NAVI and driving couple of days, I started to notice there is sound re-production is not well so I thought that it might be the audio settings to tune with. I make the changes in sound settings by changing BASS, TREBEL as well Subwoofer. After making changes to the audio settings, still there is an issue with the sound quality. At least Im not expecting this kind of worst sound quality from the premium audio system. After few days, Ive noticed that what settings which Ive made for volume is changed to the lowest level at 10 and I correctly remembered that Ive set to 15. I thought it might be my oversight so Ive continuously observed the behavior. Ive reported issues with the stereo due to the settings were not saved and sound quality is not good specifically with the FM and XM. After investigation, the service advisor reported back that there is nothing wrong with stereo. I was not convinced with the response. After that incident I’ve started continuously monitoring the stereo performance. Again, I’ve noticed that the stereo screens are not changing when I change the channels on the radio. I thought that might be intermittent issue and ignored at that day. On subsequent days, I’ve noticed that the stereo screen is freezing and it does not correctly report currently playing channel. So I took my vehicle to the dealership and explained the service advisor what is happening and showed him a video about the stereo behavior. After the investigation, I got call from the service advisor that my vehicle is ready to be picked up. So I went to dealership to pick up the car. The next morning, the issue again comes up and I went back to the dealership to report the issue. This time, the other service advisor has seen the issue and acknowledges it. He re-opened the previous RO for further investigation. After the feedback from Honda, they replaced the Tuner board in car. After 3 days, the same issue arises and I went to dealership to report the problem and for resolution. The service advisor told me that they have to replace the entire stereo unit. Till now, the resolution is not happened. My advice to every buyer of this model to thoroughly check the stereo prior to making any purchase decision. I believe this is the issue with all models. As most people does have a navigation screen on the main display screen and they may not be able to notice this weird behavior.

  • Nice car but needs tweaks - 2016 Honda Accord

There are two info screens which doesnt make any sense. As well the lane sensor only works on the passenger side, which again is not logical. I like seeing the indicators on the side mirrors which the Accord doesnt have. The middle storage/armrest is too short-not long enough for both the passenger and the driver to comfortably rest your arms. The trunk is a decent size but the opening into the back seat area is small. Finally the rims are ugly unless you get the sport or the V6. I love the look of the car but there are too many things I dont like about it. Ill wait to see what they do with the 2018 version.

  • Cheaply Made and cheap looking - 2016 Honda Accord

I deeply regret trading my Honda CR-V for the Accord Sedan. The car rides nice but it is very uncomfortable and hard to get in and out of. The seat belts definitely are not made for short people and getting in and out is difficult for tall people. The seats are a lousy foam rubber and do not provide any lumbar support. The fabric on the door panels are grey and are beginning to show signs of wear and tear with only 5,000 miles on the car. The integrity of the body is greatly compromised. I dont think this car is worthy of the Honda name and am already looking to get rid of it.

  • Great Car but a few bugs - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

First, let me say that I really love my new Honda Accord Coupe for the most part. But........... Here is what you need to know. The Good: The front seat is nice and very comfortable. Love the leather and the inside looks nice - also the outside. The build seems very solid. The car is quiet driving. The gas mileage on the 4cyl is unbelievable. I got almost 50 mpg on the highway...no kidding, it blew me away. The audio sound I thought was good. The Bad: The audio system controls are annoying and hard to get around. The car drives like a sports car (think 350z) - you will feel every bump. (If youre looking for a smooth ride, its average at best...the ride is bumpy, but fun.) The USB ports were put in bad places. Thats about all I can say on the bad side. Would I buy it again, Im not sure. I was hoping for a smoother ride. Youll just have to test drive it to understand what I mean. Make sure you take it on some rough roads.

  • I want to love the car but I cant - 2016 Honda Accord

Purchasing a brand new vehicle for the first time in my life is a very exciting event. I had very high expectation from upgrading from used up 2004 Accord to brand new 2016 EX-L model. I love the design and acceleration, CarPlay is cool.... This could be a perfect car, BUT I can not understand how Honda can ignore two simple issues, that just make me thinking that this is my last Honda. The first problem is wind noise. It is simply horrible, not better than any other car from 90-s. No improvements at all on trying to make it a little quitter, to match up with competitors. This is really annoying and doesnt make any ride enjoyable. The second problem appears when I try to eliminate the wind noise by playing loud music. Guess what, load music causes vibration of the whole rear deck with the subwoofer. The stop light is so close to the glass, that light vibration of the deck causes the plastic to vibrate and periodically with high frequency hit the rear glass. This creates annoying rattling noise. So I make the volume lower, but then I here annoying wind noise... Most importantly, the dealer agreed to repair both of these issues, that cost me nothing but loosing hours of my personal work time. Both repairs are not successful and it was just a waste of time trying to fix manufacturers pour design. Btw, the dealer doesnt accept that this is a result of pour design.... They offered the repairs covered by warranty, but they all were not effective with no improvements. Such confusing situation. Even if I am willing to pay to fix it, I cant fix it and no one can! I had to do what I originally planned to do, buy a more luxury but slightly used vehicle, in which, at least I would enjoy the ride while paying more for the repairs....

  • Model EX-L is a rip off - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

2016 Accord added a feature call "Honda Sensing" which is included in the navigation package that costs $2000, which includes FCW, LDW, etc. However, you guys need to know that 2013-2015 Accord EX-L include FCW and LDW as a standard instead of an optional package that cost $2000 dollar. I rather buy an ipad to be my navigation system.

  • Unacceptable harsh ride for family sedan - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive always loved Hondas, ever since my college years when I started with a plain old civic hatchback, then in 2000 I got a new Si, with superb handling and still great reliability. After getting my wife a brand new 2016 Accord, I was surprised by how harsh the ride was, specially the rear of the car seems like its riding on lowered suspension and I felt every bump on the road. I can understand having a sports suspension, however this was not the well behaved suspension I had on my Si! It transmits too much of the roads imperfections and its definitely much worse than my old Si in handling the roads imperfections and transmits more of the vibrations to my back than the civic. And are we talking about a family sedan?! The worse is that the Accord nearly went airborne on the toll way with one of the bigger bumps, something that alarmed everyone sitting in the car (5) at that time. Wow... how did the Accord go from a family sedan to something I wouldnt recommend to anyone buying a sports sedan I dont know... bad Honda. This is definitely the worst riding sedan Ive owned and driven from MB C, S class, to Fords Mustang and CV.

  • Honda Fail - 2016 Honda Accord
    By -

This is Honda number six for me, but sadly, the last. Purchased with 8k " certified". Car was delivered with multiple problems, broken power seat, interior rattles, and damaged paint. Certified indeed. Have owned for three months and have been to the dealer nine times and counting..... Cannot remedy the multiple interior rattles. On the plus side, looks amazing, drives fine but not exciting, pretty good gas mileage. But not enough good to overcome the poor quality construction, dealer deceptions, and a complete lack of support from American Honda.

  • okay car - 2016 Honda Accord

I wish that I researched this car more. I had to get seat cushions because the seat was not comfortable, it was hurting my back. I had to get pedal extenders because I was sitting to close to the wheel and i couldnt reach the gas comfortable and adjust the wheel comfortably. I like the climate control and the fact that I sit high and its roomy. I am getting used to the car and now I do like the car after all these adjustments. I just hope I wont have car problems like I am reading that people have.
