  • My 3rd Accord and sadly my last - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

When I purchased my first 4 cyl Accord, the salesperson said the luxury is under the hood. I was coming out of a BMW, which I couldnt afford anymore as my priorities had changed with 2 small boys. Well that car lasted me 12 years and the only reason it died was because my son totaled it. I immediately picked up the phone and called the same salesperson who sold me my 2004 Pilot. In 2 days we picked up our new addition to the family, a 2008 Honda Accord 4 cyl EXL, it was affordable and gorgeous. From the 1st day we drove it out of the dealer, the engine noise was horrible. While driving, theres a loud rumble in the engine and a slight whistle. Theres no more room on this post. Terrible car

We bought a Honda thinking that we would keep this car for at least 5 years, but after 2, we cant wait to get rid of it. We had brake problems the first day that we brought it home. Dealership would not really address the problem. I had to purchase a set of aftermarket brakes and rotors to fix the problem. The body panels and paint are cheaply made. It seems that we have more road chips and scratches then paint left! Would not buy another Honda!

  • Same Problems - 2008 Honda Accord

Im speechless to see that everyone is having the same problems as me. I have 30,000 and my wear indicators are making noise. Road noise is horrible, trans slips when it is cold, has used oil since day 1. Seats are hard and uncomfortable, Im getting close to end of warranty and getting nervous. Why this engine needs to turn 2500 rpm to do 70 mph is hard to understand, I feel like Im in the daytona 500.

  • Never again... - 2008 Honda Accord

My first and last Honda. Rear brake job after 9 months - $180. Seats are most uncomfortable - after 1.5 years of ownership still trying to find a comfortable position. Exterior and interior design is sub par at best. Fuel efficiency is horrible - fill up every 7-9 days - $45 - driving to and from work and school. I am not quite sure what I was thinking when I bought this vehicle. Disappointed. Frustrated. Cannot wait to get rid of.

  • I hate my accord - 2008 Honda Accord

I have owned many cars, for 08 Honda took a step BACK in quality. Never have I despised a car as much as my 2008 accord EX. My car has less than 40,000 miles and I have replaced the rear brakes THREE times! Each time at about $200 at the dealer. The dealer told me they are designed to be quiet, so they wear out fast. Be prepared for an additional couple hundred dollars in repairs every few months if you are considering buying. Interior noise is MISERABLE. Road noise is insanely loud as is wind noise. Dealer looked into the issue and stated my car is flaw free, Accords are just noisy. Horrible build quality with that much noise. Trading the car in, will never buy Honda again.

This was my first Honda purchase and it will be my last due to the poor performance of the V-6 variable cylinder management engine. When I bought the car the salesman and the brochure indicates that the VCM will work unnoticed. However after driving the car for awhile now that is not true at all. I complained to the dealer and the service manager indicated that they have had a lot of complaints about that engine. He put me in touch with the Honda Regional representative and he told me the same thing. He also told me that the V-6 engine has been "disappointing". However, Honda wont do anything about it, Im stuck with it. I will be getting rid of this car this spring.

  • The Edsel of Hondas!! - 2008 Honda Accord

Worst Accord Design Ever! And this engine is going in the 2009 Pilot??? Ive owned six previous Accords and LOVED them all. Ive have a 2008 Accord V6 EX with the infamous VCM engine. After multiple trips back to the dealer and various "fixes" (wheel balance, turned rotors, computer upgrade), the ride in this car is torture. The drivers seat redesign gives me a back/head ache after only a 10 mile highway drive to work. The VCM engine causes constant, violent shifts, shimmy and vibrations. So glad that I found this forum because the 2008 Accord V6 VCM engine is Hondas best kept, dirty little secret. Lets spread the word and force Honda to acknowledge this engine design nightmare.

  • Burns 5-6 quarts ever 3,000 miles - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive owned this car for a year now and its burns 5-6 quarts of oil every oil change which is every 3,000 miles for me. I think thats a lot of oil for every oil change. Ive called a several Honda dealerships about my concern but since Im out of the warranty extension by 400 miles and by 3 months Im not elegible for the repair with the piston the rings. Now Im stuck so with a great car that burns a lot of oil and will end up paying more money to fix or replace the engine then what the car is worth. I definitely dont recommend the 4 cylinder 2008 Honda Accord unless your willing to carry at least 2 quarts of oil in your vehicle like I do. Until Im decided on what to do with this vehicle thats my review

  • Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought a Honda because I thought it would be reliable. So far the A/C system broke twice. The second time I was told that it was caused by road debris and the warranty would not cover it. I had to shell out $724 + tax. A call to American Honda was no help. It seems there are lots of Honda owners with this problem. The condenser is vulnerable to damage. I also had problems with the rear brakes. The inner pads wore out at less than 20,000 miles. They claim the caliper slider got corroded. No warranty coverage. Rear trunk lid rattles. Lots of road noise. Yes, the paint chips easily. No mirror defroster on this. The warranty is good for nothing. Anything that goes wrong is not covered.

  • Serious Brake Problem - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Rotor problems at 3,000 miles, replaced front pads and turned front rotors . At 10,000 miles had to replace rear pads, at 18000 miles had to replace the front rotors, the rear rotors had to be turned and the rear pads had to be replaced. At 23000, had to replace the front rotors and rear rotors. Honda installed a re-designed and upgraded spring loaded brake pad on both the front and rear, that is supposed to correct the problem. Well see. Come on Honda, Fix the problem once and for all.COMPLAIN LOUDLY TO HONDA PEOPLE
