  • A jack of all trades pure driving pleasure - 2016 Honda Accord

Let me start by addressing the minor complaints Ive read that could make you second guess what is otherwise the best car Ive ever had the pleasure to own and drive. First everyone needs to stop whining about the loss of the volume knob. The touch screen control only takes a few days to get used to and is now second nature. Next are so called noise complaints while I will admit heavy rains do produce a tapping near the B pillar its easily ignored and minor. Ive had a Toyota Camry, Jeep Cherokee, VW Jetta, and Jeep Wrangler whose roofs sounded like they were corrugated tin. Road and wind noise? They are a none issue I quote Car and Driver magazine "At 70 mph we recorded a decibel rating of 66, the same as a Mercedes S class we tested." Now onto the review if you are looking to enjoy the act of driving not just getting from A to B this is the car for you. If your looking to do it in comfort on a seat that feels like the leather chair in your living room in the perfect position relative to the controls and excellent view all around buy/lease this car. Matched to a buttoned down suspension, perfectly weighted steering wheel that at least gives some feed back compared to the numb detached steering in my last few sedans get the accord (Im looking at you Kia Optima and Chevy Malibu.) Finishing up with the smoothest quick shifting automatic Ive ever driven that shames these crap CVTs get to the dealership. Lastly its a rocket putting your foot in it brings a linear rush of power that will leave most cars in your rearview. VTEC is awesome in the upper RPM range adding extra noticeable pull. Take a test drive you wont regret it. If mpg is your thing driving steady not slow had netted me an average of 28 city 31 to 34 highway not bad for this well engineered n/a V6.

For the price you get the most bang for your buck with a Honda Accord Sedan.....the EX model is more than well appointed and this car is just the right size. Gas mileage is excellent.

Previously had the same model - 2008 - had 120k miles and ran like a top! Decided to get a new model and Honda had some incentives. Basically the same car - but the electronics are really a step forward (learning curve involved!)

  • Wow! As Good as the TL I traded in - 2016 Honda Accord

I traded in my 2004 Acura TL for a 2016 ex-L 6 cylinder Sedan. Pros: Looks great, gas mileage on the highway is 34 mpg and 26 around town. Love the steering....almost a modified rack and pinion feel. The 6 cylinder has great acceleration, yet great regular gas mileage. Comfortable and good leg room in the back seat for guests. Trunk has plenty of space. Whats not to love? Cons: Ive gotten used to the all touch screen electronics. I would prefer a modified tech package with some commonly used functions having buttons vs. touch. Touch often forces you to take your eyes off the road, although the radio volume and channel changes can be done from the steering wheel. I dont miss my TL much - this car is a real winner. Honda should be using this great 6 cylinder engine in more of their vehicles.

  • The Standard for all family sedans to be judged - 2016 Honda Accord

The 2016 Honda Accord V6 is the most complete car under $35k; there are very few deficiencies and a solid driving experience. The honda sensing package includes a group of safety enhancements with radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. The radar cruise control is really amazing, and I often find myself using this function for commuting as it will brake and speed up all on its own in accordance with traffic conditions. The lane departure is good feature, but is easily confused with bad pavement, but it is helpful to have. The forward collision warning is sensitive, but it is helpful. Finally, the honda lanewatch is pretty much useless. I tried it for a week with it coming on automatically on the right turn signal, but it was distracting. I use it occasionally on the highway to switch lanes, but as there arent much in terms of blind spots, it is not very useful. The interior is very comfortable for four, I guess you can seat five, but I havent tried it. My car has the black leather interior which is good quality and everything just seems to work. The navigation system is based on garmin, which makes the best navigation systems. Apple Car Play is really helpful and cool. The ability to text without typing or having to touch the phone is a huge benefit. Plus, being able to access Siri at a touch of a button is amazing. The V6 is strong when called upon with a sweet sound that reminds me of an NSX from my days of playing Gran Turismo on the PS3. During times when power isnt required, the engine is quiet and doesnt make itself known except at partial throttle at low RPM, when there is a little shutter from what I assume is the engine operating on 3 cylinders. I am getting around 34mpg on the highway and around 22mpg around town, with a very heavy right foot.

  • Fantastic Car - 2016 Honda Accord

My first Honda. This is a high quality car all around. Smooth, quiet, comfortable and roomy. The front seats are very comfortable. I actually like the CVT transmission. Sure, low end torque is not great, but it is adequate. I never find myself uncomfortable, wishing for more power. At higher RPMs the little engine really pulls hard. Its impressive. There are quieter cars, but it is reasonably quiet. The gas mileage is insane! Rated at 27/37, I actually get better than 27 in pure city driving. I get close to 30mpg in the city. The new styling of the 2016 model is very attractive. Steering wheel controls work well for all of the infotainment system. I rarely use the actual touch screen. Honda Sensing is a nice technology. Its a very good deal for the price. Lane keeping assist actually allows you to relax a little bit more while driving because it makes all the minor adjustments for you. Collision mitigation can be fooled in certain situations, but not a problem, it can be overridden by the driver applying gas and/or steering. BTW - there is a trunk access button on the rear of the car. It is located slightly offset to the right side under the lip of the trunk. Another reviewer said the only way in was using the FOB, which is incorrect. Oh, and I love the push button start and the keyless entry. This is my first experience with it and it is great. I just walk up to the car with the key fob in my pocket and touch the handle, and the car unlocks. The key never leaves my pocket. When I leave and want to lock the car, I just press the button on the outside door handle.
