Honda Accord has been fully redesigned for 2008. It's bigger and roomier. New four- and six-cylinder engines are not only more powerful, they either match or surpass their predecessors in terms of fuel economy.

Pros:
  • Powerful and fuel-efficient engines, ample passenger space, balanced approach to handling and ride comfort, striking coupe styling.

  • Check the oil daily - 2008 Honda Accord

This is my 9th Honda over the last 28 years. It may be my last. The car is fun to drive, handles nicely, is comfortable and burns a qt of oil per 1000 miles. Honda says this is "in specs". I have never had a Honda that used oil like this before. Because I drive for a living I cannot afford to keep this car. I change oil every 5K. In other words, I add 5 qts of oil between every change. I will trade it for something other than Honda.

This is my 5th Honda, and sad to say, I like it the least. Is it the only sedan in its price range with no outside temp or mpg display? I was shocked to learn, after purchase, that my new 08 was not as safe as my 04, the 08 only having 3 stars in the rear crash test. The engine is responsive and quick, handling good, design the best Honda ever, but I dont like the thumping noise I hear every time I hit the brakes. Honda says its normal, I say its annoying. I am looking for a different car--Legacy? Taurus? Malibu?

  • Ecessive wind noise and brake issue - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

this is our first Honda car and we are generally pleased with quality, gas mileage, performance, ride and handling. The vehicle is a 2008 Honda EX-P with the 4 cylinder engine. I have two major complaints 1. The wind and cabin noise especially at highway speeds. 2. The brakes had to be totally replaced at 22,000 miles that nobody can explain why this happened. The dealer has been very supportive on the brake issue but seems to be giving us a runaround on the wind noise by claiming it is typical of the 2008 model. Quite frankly, I am very surprised and disappointed that a $25,000 car designed by Honda would be this noisy to the point of not being able to hear a person in back speak.

  • Excellent value - 2008 Honda Accord

I got this car mid-April to replace my gas guzzling F-150 and havent looked back since. Great amount of interior space, excellent design, the 190 hp engine takes off faster that I could have possibly hoped for (who needs a V6?), and the features that come standard with the EX are everything I could have hoped for. Fun to drive, safe, reliable, and comfortable. What more could you ask for?

  • Getting too Big to Handle - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

I waited few months to write this review due to that I thought I will give it enough time to get used to its size. I owe a 1993 Accord that I love to drive, the 2008 is not a fun car to drive. The Gas mileage is good, the acceleration sometime is slow when cold from 1st to 2nd gear. Seats are little on the hard side.

Had to buy a new car...did my research and Accord kept coming back as one of the top performers in overall quality. Very happy with the car. I4 offers responsive acceleration - its not a drag car car so have realistic expectations - buy a V6 if you really need that feeling. Interior is very comfortable w/ ergonomic design in mind. are there a lot of buttons? Yes, could they have made it simpler? Yes. but realistically is it hard to figure out? No. new coupe styling is outstanding. Must see in person to really appreciate. pictures dont do it justice. Radio isnt to bad just make sure you set the EQ to fit your music or it can get washed out. 6 cd changer is a nice treat, but the aux

  • Givin some love to the new car - 2008 Honda Accord

Just picked up the car a week ago, and I am loving it. Before my purchase, the comparison was between the highest trim levels of the Accord, Altima 3.5 SE, Camry SE V6, and Subaru Legacy GT. This car has excellent build quality that is unmatched by any of the competition, and along with the best Navi system of the bunch, clinched the decision for me. The V6, while not as well-rounded as the competition, is very competent and has a satisfying growl to it. As for the reality check, Im currently getting about 18.5 MPG over about 250 miles driven thus far. This is to be expected with a V6, however, as my current commute is about 2.5 miles one way to work each day.

  • Should have kept my BMW - 2008 Honda Accord

I traded my M3 and purchase a Honda Accord EX-L 4 cyl for reliability reason. But I was did not work-out the way I had expected. first set of brakes replaced at 23k miles ($451 dollars) and at 39,400 I need another one. Honda dealers and Honda are not very helpful. I rather purchase a Ford next time.

  • Exceeds Expectations - 2008 Honda Accord

For 22 years I have said to myself, "I really ought to buy an Accord", but instead I have spent my time driving expensive European cars. Great to drive, but expensive to purchase and maintain. Well, the 2008 Accord pushed me over the edge. Not only is it well made and enjoyable to drive, it actually compares to much more expensive cars. The doors make that German car "thunk" when you close them. The suspension feels sophisticated and is smooth on the open road, handles bumps without harshness, and easily handles canyon curves. The interior is first rate. The nav system is impressive. The stereo sounds great. The car is quiet. It even gets great mileage with the V6. There is lots of room.

  • The Perfect Balance - 2008 Honda Accord
    By -

Although not the fastest, most luxurious, or technologically advanced in the very competitive mid-size sedan segment, the Accord strikes the perfect balance of sport, comfort and value, creating a vehicle that feels and acts like a much pricier machine. Indeed, the hi-revving engine, tight suspension and precise steering have almost a Bavarian feel to it.
