  Good... but could be better - 2008 Honda Accord

  I bought my car last year after an accident totaled my 2007 Nissan Altima coupe and can I just say I miss my Altima. : ( my family talked me into the car... Telling me how good the gas mileage is (not true... my Altima got better city) and how the features outnumber any car in its class. But the bottom line is the cars stereo system... its just weird, if you dont have navigation some of the buttons are oddly placed (the tuner 2.5 in nob) the display under the speedometer could be more helpful (telling me how many miles / gallon I have, telling me how my speed affects my gas mileage... etc.). But I will say that its larger than any other coupe I looked at. Its a good car... but it could be better.

  The car rides well and handles well. Honda still does ride as well as most American cars and the suspension is a little too stiff.

  This is my fifth Honda Accord and I have been impressed with the improvements made as we have come through the past 15 years. The 2008 body design is boring and outdated. Otherwise the gas mileage, service intervals, drive and dependability is still pristine. The added features with each new model have been exciting to use and the 2008 was no disappointment

  I have had my Accord for almost 18 months. I have had no problems to speak of and the 4 cyl is incredible for a 4 cyl. My only complaint is I had to get brakes at 21,000 miles. Honda service said this was normal and because my town is pretty hilly I believed them. But after reading here, Im a little ticked off. Honda definitely needs to do something as people who read these reviews might rule these cars out in their purchasing decision.

  This is the first Accord that I have owned. I currently have not had any problems other than the vibration in the steering wheel at 60-70mph. i did not notice it until I was on a smooth road. Lucas was able to duplicate but not isolate the problem. Honda suggested to put 3k miles and bring it back. The vibration is still present. I only wish my wife would let me drive it more often

  I love this car. It handles great and still looks great. Everything still works except the keyless entry quit working a year or so ago. It uses a little oil and about 1/2 qrt. needs to be added every 2-3 weeks. Car still runs great. Over all, Im not impressed with Honda Corp.s customer support but the car is good.

  Love the styling and handling of my Accord but the road noise is certainly more than the Toyota Camry is used to own. The biggest problem with this car is the brakes. At 18,500 miles I had to replace the rear brakes (half my miles are long distance so this should not have happened). Turns out in 2008 Honda went to a smaller rear brake system and therefore they wear out sooner. I complained to Honda of America and they refunded 50% of my brake replacement cost. They also asked for the old brake pads back to check the problem.

  I purchased this vehicle thinking that I was going to get a solid, well-built car. For the most part I did with the exception of noisy, squeaky brakes and rattling behind the back speakers. The car drives great and gets better gas mileage than my 2000 Lincoln LS V8. I did take a 3 hour trip in it and my back started hurting 2 hours in. Im only 22! Dealership experience has been pleasant and the car has a great sound system. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. It looks great, handles well, and gets good gas mileage. I avg about 25 mpg.

  Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord

  I was very disappointed when I purchased the new 2008 Accord after owning a 97 Honda Accord LX for 10 years (purchased new) with very few problems. I currently have about 3700 miles on my new car and have had numerous problems with it. The transmission whines in low gears, the headlights flicker while driving, the visor lights do not work, and gas mileage is on average about 25 (all my driving is on the highway). I cannot describe how disappointed I am with this new car. When taken to the dealer for service, they tell me most of the problems are normal. Normal? What happened to Honda quality? I should have purchased the Toyota Camry SE.
