For the 1999 Ford Mustang, Ford gives its sports car fresh styling and more motor. The 3.8-liter V6 engine makes 190 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. The SOHC V8 found in GT models gets an 16-percent increase in horsepower. Improvements to the V6 and GT suspension and steering gear, as well as a styling update.

Ive owned my 1999 convertible Mustang for 5 years with only 1 problem. I had a problem shortly after I bought it with one of the convertible top hydraulics going out. The car was used, with 17,000 miles on it, before I got it and apparently someone tried taking the top down with it still latched into the windshield and this caused the failure. Other than that I have had no mechanical problems with this car and it is used as a daily driver. The Mustang is a little bumpy because of the sports suspension and height from the ground but thats what you come to expect in a performance RWD car. Dont expect to be riding like a Caddy in this bad boy, but youll ride in style!

  • Best car I have ever owned! - 1999 Ford Mustang

This has been the highest quality car I have ever owned - it has a nice, solid one-piece feel to it, handles well, and is fun and comfortable to drive. As I currently drive about 32 miles each way to work, I appreciate the comfort and performance from the 3.8 liter six cylinder engine, which puts out 190 hp for this year.

Bang for the buck, you cant beat a Mustang when it comes to performance. Beautiful car, powerful, fun in the straights and the corners, and almost 100,000 miles without a major problem. Who says American cars are low quality?

I got the car in 99 just out of high school and have driven it for 140000 miles without a single hickup just change the oil every 3000 miles and the thing will run great. Its still even on the same clutch.

bought used with 7400 miles in like new condition. now have 58000 and it has never cost a dime in maintenance except for routine oil & filter changes. brakes & steering very good. heater & air very good. ride comfort is awful. 5 speed sloppy & difficult to shift into first when at full stop. difficult to enter & exit. shoulder belt height is non-adjustable and constantly pulls out of seat back plastic loop. all in all an inexpensive car to own and has great looks with Cobra style wheels & tires. Poor traction with this tire package when streets are wet however.

  • Been around 40 years for a reason! - 1999 Ford Mustang

The Mustang is a great deal, reliable, full of character, fun to drive, and even sensible. Civic, Celica and so on dont compare as a whole package. The 99+ V6 is a bargain in every respect. Trunk space is good compared to most small cars, and fold through rear seats are really convenient. Kids enjoy the rear seat. They dont need an SUV! Adults can fit uncomfortably in the back, but who cares about them? This car is about you, the driver. The manual makes the car alive and gears are flexible through hills. Highway mileage is great for a car like this (27 or so) but city drops pretty quickly to around 20. For what this car costs, buy one and some snow tires!

I bought this car while in College at 20,000 miles. Served me great with no mechanical or driving problems except one small pressure cable that helps to lift the roof up broke ( figures if I take the top up and down like every day!)That was the only thing to fix. My Car has 120,000 miles on it right now and runs like the same day I bought it!!!! I would recommend this car to anyone who loves to experience a convertible and has a joy for driving.

  • I love my mustang - 1999 Ford Mustang

When I bought this car it had 165,000 miles on it, but other than that it was in great shape. I had to make minor repairs. A new radiator and heater but for the amount of miles it has. Its performance has been great. It currently is up to 175,000 miles and it is still running strong.

I BOUGHT THE MASTANG USED W/ 35000 IN 2003. THIS CAR IS GREAT. I HAVE PUT MANY MODS AND AFTERMARKET PARTS ON THIS THING AND IT STILL RUNS GREEAT, EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST DAY I GOT IT. NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT YET.

Great ride!! Gotta love to punch it, so you can make it out in front of any traffic. Sure it handles poor in the rain and snow but it also depends on the driver, I passed many a SUVs on the way to work in the snow (Ive never been stuck). Damn those cup holders, my interior would be in excellent shape if it wasnt for the hundreds of soda the gear shift helped spill. Also the standard is a must, the automatic just didnt have the power behind it.
