  Fun car to drive. Excellent suspension and a smooth ride. I have had no problems with this car. Excellent gas mileage. I average 35-36 mpg highway and 29 mpg city.

  Great Little Car - 2000 Ford Focus

  Car has 155,000 miles. Up to 100,000 miles no problems. In the last 50,000 things started wearing out. Replaced everthing in the brakes (about time) replaced A/C, power steering pump, alternator, engine mounts, ignition key switch, plugs, plug wires, coil, belt and one power window mech-anism. Thats about it These things dont last forever. Now at 155,000 the engine blew so I am going to install a used engine. This little car has always run great, good mileage and reliable transportation. Its still like new so it deserves a new engine which I plan to install. Like any car there are some lemons out there but mine is not one of them so Im keeping it for another 100,000.

  Have enjoyed this car. Fun to drive, with a lot of room to haul 2 kids and their stuff. Would have liked slightly higher gas mileage. This car has been very reliable for me, and the only times it has been in the shop was for the minor recalls.

  I put about 40k miles per year on my cars, and this one has not held up. It has gone through brakes every 30k miles, the suspension eats through tires, the windows have stopped working on 2 occasions, the fuel gage has never been accurate despite 3 repairs, several interior panels are loose, the drivers side mirror is loose... I have already spent twice as much in repairs on this car than I have on my 96 civic hatchback, which has almost 200k miles now and has again become my daily driver due to the poor build quality of this car.

  Selling because of key - 2000 Ford Focus

  I bought this car new and ignition cylinder has had to be replaced 4 times. I put key in ignition and wont turn. As Im sure it will happen again, I sell. Tired of getting stuck and towed to a dealer who tells me I dont know how to use a key! Also, brake problems and rear hatch lock goes twice. This car only has 41,000 miles. After owning a number of Ford products, wont buy one again. This car has been a terrible disappointment.

  Less than 90k miles and have replaced radiator, plastic thermostat housing twice, both cooling fan motors, relay switches, now ac compressor quit. Not half as good a car as my Toyota Corolla. Power of motor is adequate.

  I have had this car for one year and have had nothing but nightmares. There was 15,000 miles left on warranty when bought and was definitely needed! I had the emissions pump and blinkers fixed under warranty. Oh, then replaced the brakes on my own... had two recalled repairs and now 1,000 miles past warranty, My engine is no longer functioning... yeah, the 2nd and 3rd cylinders are damaged. Wheres Fords help now??? So, much for customer service! My first and last Ford EVER!

  No more Fords for me - 2000 Ford Focus

  I purchased this car as an inside deal. It has been towed 3 times. The fuel pump went out, the fuel line leaked, the ignition went out, the front coil springs broke, exhaust is load, replaced catolac convertor, the number three piston went out (needs new motor). I sold it to the junk yard to a sucker for 250.00. I will never buy another ford. Oh... Two of Focus friends also had the same problems. This is the worst car ever. When the fuel pump goes bad, you cant let the fuel level drop below half a tank. That makes long trips fun. Dont buy it so Ford will stop making it.

  I got my Focus in March and I have only had a few small problems such as the windshield wiper bottle leaking and the serpentine belt squeaking. Other than that, I love the easy handling and the amazing gas mileage. Not to mention the aesthetics :)

  Solid Car - 2000 Ford Focus

  I have had no problems with the car. Other than the recalls, which are fine as long as they fix the problem, the only negative is that the tires and brakes wear out far too quickly (30,000 miles). Car is enjoyable and has had no need for a mechanic other than routine maintenance.
