Redesigned last year, the Expedition offers few changes for 2004. Option packages and trim levels have been slightly revised, and in some cases, renamed. The XLS replaces last year's XLT Value trim level, while a new NBX trim level replaces the FX4 off-road package. And there is now an XLT Sport trim level. A tire-pressure monitoring system is now standard on XLT, XLT Sport and Eddie Bauer, while the previously standard limited-slip rear axle is now an option.
- Well thought-out interior with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings, handy fold-flat third-row seat, impressive handling for its size, great crash test scores.
- Needs more power, ride quality suffers on rough roads.

Auto locks have pinched arms for both driver and passenger. Fuel mileage has finally reached 14 hwy in 2wd. Brake dust leaves front wheels black.

I feel that I have a pretty good idea about automobile quality and performance. The Eddie Bauer Expedition is a level above almost any SUV on the market. We see them all and I have owned Porsche,BMW and have driven Lexus, Mercedes as well as most others. For the $$$ get the Eddie Bauer Expedition and you should be pleased.

Other than that it has been a very pleasant experience. My kids and wife love it and we use it for long distance travel.

I have nothing but praise for this vehicle.Great for my real estate business, and, after a hurricane. The ride is smooth,even on rough roads!Great for long distance trips with 2 kids! The engine is quiet,great towing capacity! Lots of space for legs & cargo. Pulls strong and runs best with less fuel comsumption using premium. Elbow room with 7 people on board. Commanding views of the road from all seats without blind spost for driver. Great vehicle to be in bad weather, secure and safe. Smooth and effortless power.

Gas mileage leaves to be desired and sometimes the braking seems a little scary. Moved to the big city now and must unload it for something a little more size appropriate.
