Overview & Reviews
The 2007 Ford Expedition benefits from a major refresh and a substantial price cut. Up front, Ford's large SUV has been restyled to look more like the F-150, while underneath there's a stiff new chassis with a redesigned front and rear suspension to improve ride and handling capabilities. Larger brakes were fitted to shorten stopping distances, and a new power-steering pump is said to reduce effort levels in the parking lot. Last year's four-speed automatic transmission is replaced by a six-speed automatic. Stability control and front seat-mounted side airbags are now standard, as are side curtain airbags, which now cover all three rows of seating. Other changes include extra soundproofing material, redesigned seats, a more powerful air-conditioner and updated electronics options, among these a DVD-based navigation system, an MP3 player input jack and Sirius satellite radio. Finally, Ford has extended powertrain warranty coverage to five years/60,000 miles.
- All major safety features come standard, comfortably accommodates seven to eight passengers, third-row seat folds into floor, impressive handling for its size, high tow capacity.
- Unimpressive gas mileage even for a large SUV, a few low-grade interior plastics.

Engine Lemon - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Maureen Brown - September 10 - 2:22 pmI have never in my 36 years of driving had to replace an engine before. Now, I am currently on my second engine, and getting ready for the third, all before I hit 120K miles. How can these engines go bad that fast??? The first one died at 88K miles (after the warranty expired of course!!!), and the new engine (granted it was rebuilt) died within 30K miles. It is currently in the shop waiting on the third engine. When you pay so much for a car you tend to expect reliability. How reliable can a car be when it is fine one minute, and has an engine crash the second? Now that it is in the shop I will be without a car for 4 to 6 weeks. The last time this happened I actually missed my fathers funeral because the car was in the shop and the replacement car was unable to make the trip when the weather turned bad. The main reason I have this car is because of the snow, and the fact that it moves many people at one time, but when you cant use it then those points are moot.

SSV used. - 2007 Ford Expedition
By gofreddo - April 20 - 11:36 amClearly, there is a distinct advantage to owning an SSV. This unit came equipped with all the function items every model should have. 3:73 geared rear end, Skid plates all over the underside, rock protection for the fuel cell, bigger brake calipers, rotors and select-a trac 4X4. These are not easy vehicles to find as the used ones have been previously used for Emergency services. However, I got lucky and found one used by a fleet company that did not use them for emergency purposes.

Triton engine problems - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Jim - June 9 - 3:35 pmThis is our 3rd Expedition and the first we have had problems with despite essentially the same engine. The vehicle has had an intermittent misfire for at least 2 years. Has not shown up on computer until this week when engine light finally came on. Coil on plug on cylinder #4 was faulty. After a check of the internet, I find this is a common problem which was confirmed by my dealers service department. Ford refuses to acknowledge this is a problem with this engine. Big decision now is whether to sell it or keep it and risk a multi-thousand dollar repair bill sometime in the future. No more Expeditions for us which is a shame because we like it a lot more than GM or other products.

Would Buy Again - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Happy Expy Owner - June 1 - 12:46 pmThis has been an extremely versatile, reliable, comfortable vehicle. Friends that ride in our 07 EB Expedition are simply amazed at how well it rides & the creature comforts that it includes compared to their other brand SUVs! I have hauled 1/2 cord of wood, love seat with ottoman, 2 pallets of sod and more over a tarp with the seats down. It turns on a dime and can easily go into any parking garage. Has been in shop twice for minor repairs and recall. Never left me stranded. Will replace this one eventually with another Expedition. Gas avg. is 15 city and 18 hwy but if I drop down to 65 mph can get 22 Hwy using cruise control. Does it all, 7 passengers, 5 passengers + luggage, towing, etc.

Mustve got the only lemon - 2007 Ford Expedition
By mooch316 - March 17 - 7:36 pmIn four months on Limited fully equipped model, have had everything from the automatic air suspension to now the full transmission. Love the looks, comfort, safety, but wished it was in my driveway as much as its at the dealership for major repairs. I wish I wouldve never bought this lemon, its giving me an ulcer.

Review - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Geronimo - December 25 - 9:26 pmVery pleased with this truck. Recently took it on a 1800 miles tour - spotless performance. My previous truck was a 2WD 2006 Ford Explorer with a 4.0 engine (I think). That Explorer had an amazing amount of poke pulling off.It would match or beat many new lightweight cars. In this respect my Expedition is a geriatric. But its a price paid for all else being very good indeed.

Great Vehicle for the $$$ - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Andy - December 11 - 11:20 amThis is our 4th Expedition and about to pick up our 5th this week. They all have a great ride and you cant beat the turning radius. I can almost get a 4x8 sheet of whatever and close the hatch. Cant really complain about the mileage for a 5000lb+ vehicle-14 to 15 city and close to 20 highway (at 70+). No warranty issues until this one which were minor...dirver lumbar, rear A/C control and power lift gate mechanism.

Great Evolution of Design - 2007 Ford Expedition
By Bob-o2010 - October 31 - 1:16 pmThis is my third Expedition 97 EB (176k),2003 EB 4WD(136k), and 07 Limited(now 60k). Great design for space and comfort and even the old ones still look great. The 07 is the best yet. The improvements to IRS hit the mark. Auto lift gate and power seats are great. Best is the Ride - Chrome Clad Wheels is the dumbest idea yet. Very easy to damage and expensive to replace. No repair possible.
