Redesigned last year, the Expedition offers few changes for 2004. Option packages and trim levels have been slightly revised, and in some cases, renamed. The XLS replaces last year's XLT Value trim level, while a new NBX trim level replaces the FX4 off-road package. And there is now an XLT Sport trim level. A tire-pressure monitoring system is now standard on XLT, XLT Sport and Eddie Bauer, while the previously standard limited-slip rear axle is now an option.
- Well thought-out interior with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings, handy fold-flat third-row seat, impressive handling for its size, great crash test scores.
- Needs more power, ride quality suffers on rough roads.

By FOURTH TRUCK OWNER - November 4 - 10:00 amTHE BOAT AND TRAILER WE TOW WEIGH ABOUT 7300 POUNDS. OUR EXPEDITION HAS TOWED OUR BOAT TO FLORIDA TWICE AND TO GEORGIA TWICE -- OVER 5,000 MILES -- WITHOUT A PROBLEM. PASSENGERS IN THE CAR FORGET THAT WE ARE TOWING ANYTHING BECAUSE THE RIDE IS SMOOTH.

By Bunnyjean - August 10 - 11:13 amI have had 3 SUVs, by far this is the best one! The middle row leg room is wonderful, the power 3rd row is awesome. So many buttons and so many options! The ride is smooth, even on rough roads! Great for long distance trips with 4 kids! The engine is quiet, the towing capacity is super! Have had no problems with this SUV. Will keep this SUV for a very long time! Best out of the large SUVs.

The expedition so far has been an incredible good experience with powerful engine, comfort, roomy and beautiful looking shape. The only complaint is my kids doesnt want to go in my 97 Windstar anymore.

Excellent vehicle - 2004 Ford Expedition
By timbo2 - March 17 - 10:48 amRecently upgraded from 1998 XLT 4x4 Expedition that was still excellent after 129,000 miles including 4,000 yearly miles towing a 7,000# travel trailer. The new 2004 Eddie Bauer feels stronger with the extra 30 HP with 5.4L engine. This one has everything except air suspension and navigation system. So far around town averaging 16.7 mpg. Other than rear axle whine which will be fixed next week am extremely happy with this vehicle. Ford hit the spot with this one!
