Overview & Reviews
Redesigned last year, the Expedition offers few changes for 2004. Option packages and trim levels have been slightly revised, and in some cases, renamed. The XLS replaces last year's XLT Value trim level, while a new NBX trim level replaces the FX4 off-road package. And there is now an XLT Sport trim level. A tire-pressure monitoring system is now standard on XLT, XLT Sport and Eddie Bauer, while the previously standard limited-slip rear axle is now an option.
- Well thought-out interior with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings, handy fold-flat third-row seat, impressive handling for its size, great crash test scores.
- Needs more power, ride quality suffers on rough roads.

03 Ford Exp - 2004 Ford Expedition
By Collins David B. - July 24 - 2:00 amI like the size, it will tow an rv trailer with ease, try that with a honda. It should do well in a crash. We got 17 1/2 mpg on a trip last weekend with most of the driveing at 70 and a good bit at 80 mph . Not bad when you think about it. Our daughter bought a new Pinto in 1979 and it got about 20 mpg, now a large SUV with a 5.4 V/8 getting 17 1/2 I think is a good advance in mileage.

BIG&BAD - 2004 Ford Expedition
By FORDCK - June 1 - 10:00 amGREAT RELIABLE SUV. A BARGIN IN THIS PRICE RANGE. ROOM FOR UP TO 9 PERSONS & YOU STILL HAVE CARGO ROOM. FORD SHOULD DO AWAY WITH THE EXTERIOR PLASTIC FOR A BETTER LOOK. IF FORD COULD GET BETTER MILAGE ON THIS MODEL IT WOULD BE AN EVEN BETTER SELL. GREAT PICK UP WITH THE POWERFUL V8,AND AS BIG AS IT IS EVEN SOMEONE LIKE ME AT 5 FEET TALL YOU CAN MAKE ALL THE ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE IT A COMFORTABLE DRIVE. THE SIZE ALSO ADDS TO THE FEELING OF SAFETY, ESPECIALLY THE FACT THAT OU CAN SEE WAY AHEAD OF YOU.

Bad Breaks - 2004 Ford Expedition
By Robert1231454356 - May 26 - 10:00 amThe front brakes always causes the front tires to dirty. The seat belt chime makes to much noise. It must be able to be shut off. The stickers on the visors can not be removed. These things must be fixed before I buy another one.

Wonderful Driving Experience - 2004 Ford Expedition
By William R. Doebler - April 13 - 10:00 amI first purchsed a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT and was so impressed that I decided to upgrade to the Expedition. It is larger overall than the Explorer and sits higher off the road. I cant get over the field of view you get with the Expedition. These 2 Fords are the first American manufactured automobiles I have owned since my 1967 Pontiac Firebird and it is a wonderful experience.

Love the XP - 2004 Ford Expedition
By Vancouver XP - March 18 - 10:00 amIve had the car for 3500 km, so far so good. The back door rattles incessantly over bumps, I havent had this problem serviced yet, so I hope they can fix it. The fuel economy is abyssmal, but its a huge vehicle. The handling is surprisingly good given the size.

Expedition is all good - 2004 Ford Expedition
By mosher - December 11 - 2:00 amFrom the cooled (and heated) front leather seats to the reverse sensing system to the power fold third row seats, This thing is awesome. The four wheel drive and independent four wheel suspension make traversing rugged terrain a breeze and you can do with all the creature comforts your heart desires.

2004 Ford Expedition - 2004 Ford Expedition
By llcoolj1 - December 6 - 10:00 amThe vehicle is outstanding. For is killing current owners vehicle value with significant rebates, i.e., huge discounts on new Expeditions deflate the value of recently purchased ones

Wish I never purchased it. - 2004 Ford Expedition
By jnice - November 30 - 10:00 amIt may be because I purchased it used w/ 30,000 miles, but I have too many problems. At 50,000 miles (1 year later) A/C not working, rear locks not working, something wrong with the transmission, the expensive warranty I purchased does not cover. Trade-in value is low and I have to pay thousands to get rid of it. My previous car, a Toyota Camry of 5 years/66,000 miles had no problems. Make sure you plan on keeping it if you buy it. I would consider another SUV like the Escalade or Navigator.
