This Year's Model Updates:

Redesigned last year, the Expedition offers few changes for 2004. Option packages and trim levels have been slightly revised, and in some cases, renamed. The XLS replaces last year's XLT Value trim level, while a new NBX trim level replaces the FX4 off-road package. And there is now an XLT Sport trim level. A tire-pressure monitoring system is now standard on XLT, XLT Sport and Eddie Bauer, while the previously standard limited-slip rear axle is now an option.

Pros:
  • Well thought-out interior with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings, handy fold-flat third-row seat, impressive handling for its size, great crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Needs more power, ride quality suffers on rough roads.

Well Im perfectly happy with my Eddie Bauer 04. But right away I noticed there is a problem with the air conditioner. Come to find out alot of people with the year 04 have complained of the same thing. Apparently the service department knew of this, and I asked, dont the salesmen know of this, it would of determined if I bought the truck or not. They said yes, but that they wouldnt tell me or anyone else because they want to make the sale. Im going to be patient and wait and see if Ford comes out with another unit to install. It should be recalled pretty soon. Otherwise Ive always been happy with the Ford Expedition.

I just purchased my fourth Expedition. I reap the benefits of a safe, reliable, beautifully appointed SUV. I feel as if Im driving my living room sofa around the leather interior is luxurious, the dash is easy to attend to, and the ride is silk. Long trips in this vehicle are quite easy on the body--the ride is superb.

Best vehicle that I have ever owned. Only 700 miles and I look forward to driving it everyday. handles great and is very comfortable. all the options make me feel like im in another social class level. we had the capatin chairs put in the second row so we have all kinds of room. I recommend it to all my freinds.

Ive owned 7 suvs and this is by far the best. It has features found nowhere else except in the Navigator and gets great gas mileage for a 5400 pound vehicle.

  • As good as I expected - 2004 Ford Expedition

I researched all of the SUVs and this one is the largest and most luxurious. Cheaper than others with more and better features. Bought on 4/30/2004. 2 small problems, One with an interior light and the other with the power seat getting stuck on occasion. Dealer has ordered part. Everything else is great. Mileage is what I expected about 12 around town and have seen 15.5 on the Highway. Car has 1800 miles on it and Mileage should improve especially on a long trip, Truck feels heavy Duty and luxurious

I have had this vehicle for a year and absolutely love it, still. With two kids its perfect for traveling. I looked at Toyota, Land Rover,GMC, Acura but pound for pound you cant beat Ford. I have all options except Nav & Autotrac. My only complaints are the bottom of the drivers seat wears on the edge from getting in/out of the truck and the brake dust (plan to get ceramic pads to take care of this) Mileage is only about 13.4 city and 14.5 highway but I didnt get this vehicle for the mileage. I will be pulling a boat in April and cant wait. Also plan on buying another in June 05 with Nav to replace it just for the heck of it.

The AC seats are a neat gimmick. Lots of interior space. Blinds spots are large, but side view mirrors are very helpful.
