Overview & Reviews
The Ford Escape continues into 2006 with only minor trim and color changes.
- Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling, optional side curtain airbags.
- Four-cylinder models feel unrefined at high rpm, so-so interior materials quality.

Lovin it - 2006 Ford Escape
By GEB - February 10 - 5:48 pmAt 88k miles I love my Sonic Blu Escape. It has been everything I had hoped. Whether going confidently through snowy Pennsylvania winters, or carrying a canoe to a lake, or toting our college students stuff, or hauling yard/tree trimmings, it has done it all comfortably.

Id buy another - 2006 Ford Escape
By Michael - January 18 - 10:51 pmI bought the Ecsape 16 Months ago with 70k Miles.I only put about 6k Miles a year on a car so a 2 year old with 70k was no big deal.So far just 1 repair needed, A disc in the front axle which was only $250 to fix. Averaged 26 MPG on a 15 hour round trip thru Mountains. We average between 8-9 FEET of Snow a year here and this thing is great.Comfortable and enough room to carry things.

Very Nice Small SUV - 2006 Ford Escape
By JimmyD - January 6 - 8:05 amHave owned my 06 Escape for almost a year now. Great Vermont car - great in snow / bad weather. Had no problems until recently - had one ABS speed sensor go bad. The Ford dealer quickly diagnosed and fixed. Snappy performance with the 6 cyl, tows my 17 foot runabout boat without a problem. Roomy for a small SUV. OK gas mileage (22mpg). Seats very comfortable but stain easily (with just water). Ive steam cleaned several times. Scotchguard helps.

Sensible and Secure - 2006 Ford Escape
By Gasman30 - December 28 - 8:46 amPurchased the 4 cylinder AWD to maximize economy and still have the ability to drive in bad weather. It works very well. I understood its limitations and accept them - its not a speedster or a land yacht.

06 Escape XLT Sport - 2006 Ford Escape
By Ron S. - December 28 - 5:10 amI actually am quite fond of my Escape in spite of some dissapointing quirks. I must say it is way better than my last car, a Jeep Cheerokee Sport. The escape is an all around great vehicle and does every thing it is supposed to. I do agree with the person that said the tilt wheel does not tilt enough, this feature is like "Whats the point?". Also mine has a very annoying suspension rattle that drives me crazy. I think it needs the sway bar connecting links replaced. My 05 Ford Focus had the same problem. Not hard or expensive to fix but a design flaw just the same. The padding in the front buckets is breaking down in the seat backs, my wife and I are just average size. Hey Ford????

Great For Price - 2006 Ford Escape
By DetAk - December 7 - 11:18 amBought for family car. Has been a great little SUV and now with economy as terrible as it is and fuel so high I feel smarter for the choice I made back then. Heard clunking noise in front when I went over bumps, so I took it in and had it bar replaced, under extended warranty. Gas peddle sticks all the time and is starting to worry me. Hopefully it is and easy fix.Average about 22 miles to the gallon so it has been great on the pocket book.

Great small suv - 2006 Ford Escape
By Stan - December 3 - 7:03 amI have had this 2006 Escape for about a month. I am 6 275 lbs and I fit just right in it. The new Duratec engine will get into traffic with no problem. So far I like it a lot and I like the gas mileage too.

NO COMPLAINTS - 2006 Ford Escape
By viola chapman - November 15 - 11:08 amHad 29,0000 when I purchased it & cross my fingers, so far, I am very please with the car. yes a little lound interior, but I would say that is to be expected, because it is not the heavier, big SUV. It has 33<186 miles now, so I hope it keeps on to be the reliability and quality that I have enjoyed the short time I have drove it back and forth to work, everyday
