The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.

• Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.

• Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

  Ive had my Escape for about a week now. I love it! This is my first SUV and I doubt that I will ever go back to a "car" again! I enjoy the feeling of being up higher. The Escape is a very smooth ride. When I bought it, I felt that it was a good SUV and I hoped that my feeling was right. It was!!

  Driving experience on Indonesian roads. Steering accuracy at high speed is good. Response to acceleration is excellent. Emergency braking on curving wet road is excellent. Performance & driving safety on mountainous highways are excellent. Best SUV for Indonesian road and offroad conditions at affordable price.

  The vehicle handles, feels and rides more like a comfortable automobile. It has the advantages of great clearance and, of course, four wheel drive. On the down side the fuel economy in the city is not very good. On the highway, allowing the overdrive to cut in, the efficiency improves dramatically.

  So Far my escape has been great except for a power steering hose clamp that leaked in the extreme cold. It gets 22mpg in the city so far with only a couple of hundread kilometers on it.

  this vehicle is fun to drive. it has good pickup speed when accelerating onto a highway. i love the ease of entering and exiting this vehicle. it drives more like a pleasure car than a suv.

  I almost bought the RAV4 since I use to be a Toyota fan. I absolutely LOVE this vehicle. My son loved it so much, he went and bought one 3 days later. Were now a big FORD family!!!

  real nice suv. The only thing is not really over appealing is the tan color interior of the seats and the real light color tan floor mats. First stop I made was to an auto store to but the rubber ones whaich collect water and mud, otherwise within a copel fo weeks they woudl be trashed in the NE winters but all other interior is excellent from what I can tell so far.
