The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.
- Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.
- Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

By Ginger1001 - December 15 - 10:00 amThe day I saw this vehicle on the lot of our local dealership, I just knew it had to come home with me, and it did. I absolutely love to drive it. I can see better since I am sitting up higher and that makes me feel safer and more secure.

Excellant 4x4 in snow - 2004 Ford Escape
By audreyc - November 20 - 12:11 amOur Escape is a great 4x4 in Maine winters. 92,000 miles and no problems. Tires can be noisy when you get over 50 mph. The handling of the Escape is great able to make tight turns when you are in the Wal-mart parking lot.

Would buy another one! - 2004 Ford Escape
By kwilliams - October 22 - 6:40 pmI bought my Escape for convenience. My kids getting their own cars I didnt need a van anymore. Wanted to down size my car. This Escape was a one owner and seldom driven. I have had only usual stuff done. I have never had it to fail in starting or going where I need to go, either on the highway or in a hay field! Dependable and good on gas! 24 hwy and alittle less city. Good buy for me! Sun roof does hesitate to open or close sometime.

By Tracie - October 2 - 9:04 amI have had virtually no problems with my Escape in the 4 years that I have owned it. It handles beautifully and has a powerful 4.0L V6 engine, just like new. Good brakes, fun to drive! My only complaint is the gas mileage I get 15 city 18 hwy, much less then what the sticker showed. My husbands 5.3L V8 gets 17 hwy, sad. The only problem I have had is that the airbag light came on just 3 days ago and it has been on since. If it doesnt go off soon I will take it in to the dealership to see whats going on. I love my Escape and plan to drive it for many years to come, might even buy another one some day. It has changed my outlook on Fords.

By Baller5ft - September 15 - 2:00 amI hate Fords. I hate SUVs, yet I bought a Ford SUV and I LOVE IT!!! I sell them and after selling one recently and driving around getting it cleaned, etc. I said, this thing handles like a car. I compared it to the only other small SUV Id driven (Rav 4), only this thing was FAST!!! 2 days later I bought one, and sold one to my dad the same day. BEST CAR!!!
